Divorce

The family with a mother that stays home to take care of the kids and a father that goes to work every day is almost non-existent. Todays women are holding jobs rather than staying home, and now the father goes to work but doesnt live there anymore. The father now has his own place to go home to and perhaps a different wife. Divorce has become almost inevitable in todays marriages. People are no longer staying together and there is a major increase in single parents. Despite these facts, divorce is necessary in todays society.

Today when people enter into marriages, they have the option of divorcee in the back of their minds. This is seemingly a bad thought because it means that people have more of chance of getting divorced if they are anticipating it. This may also be a good idea because of some unexpected things that may arise within the marriage. An example of this would be the simple fact that people change. An argument to this reason would be that sometimes people are unhappy, but in the interest of the entire family there should be a grin and bare it attitude. Coming from a family in which my mother has been divorced three times and a father that has been divorced once, I have very extensive experience with this thought. I have seen two people marry my mother change the minute the honeymoon is over. These were great guys when they were dating my mother. They treated her with respect and treated us great, but almost immediately after they got married they turned into complete jerks. There is no way that two people can stay together if there is no respect for one another. This situation allows for nothing else than divorce. These guys were not only making me and my siblings miserable, but more importantly my mother. Divorce "is no more a guarantor of happiness than marriage, but also no less" (Smiley 78).

With more and more women becoming introduced into the workplace, the temptation for adultery is becoming increasingly great. Unfortunately, more and more marriages are being broken up by this problem. People may argue that in this situation the parents should work out their problems for the sake of the kids. "Children are frightened and angry, terrified of being abandoned by both parents, and they feel responsible for the divorce" (Wallerstein 6). If one spouse cheats on another there is no way that trust can be restored in the relationship. This means there will be more arguments and create a bad environment for the child to be in. The ultimate question would be is it better for the couple to stay together and argue in front of their children all the time, or should they get divorced and explain to the children why? From my experience when people are constantly fighting, the environment created is a very hostile one. This hostility seems to spread to every individual in the house and everyone walks around angry or upset, an environment not very suitable for raising children.

Another leading reason for divorce is abuse within the relationship. Unfortunately there is an increasing amount of reported cases of domestic abuse, which leaves no other option than divorce. Abuse causes people to change their outlook on life. They become very lethargic towards life and the situations that may affect their lives. "Adolescence begins early in divorced homes and, compared with that of youngsters raised in intact families, is more likely to include more early sexual experiences for girls and higher alcohol and drug use for girls and boys" (Wallerstein 71). This fact may be a legitimate point, but it doesnt mention the reasons for the divorces. Increased drug and alcohol use along with earlier introduction to sex may occur within children from divorces but these children statistically would mostly come from cases of domestic abuse. This abuse from the parent or parents causes the child to withdraw from life. They would most likely seek refuge within these unfortunate things. It would be a shame if children as well as adults had to stay in these situations if divorce was not allowed. "Children and adults are able to escape violence, abuse, and misery to create a better life" (Wallerstein 68).

The children are the main focus in any case of divorce. Many statistics suggest that the children are the people in the family that are affected the most. The children are most likely the ones that feel responsible for the divorce, they are forced to grow up faster, and they are more likely to be "bad." I know from experience that it is more likely for the children to feel responsible for the divorce. More often than not this is because the reasoning behind the divorce has not been explained to the child or children. If the couple decide to get divorced and dont explain why to the children, the children are naturally going to think that it is their fault. More of a responsibility is placed on the children to become self sufficient a little sooner than normal. This is not necessarily a bad thing. The child now can do things for themselves earlier than most. They now have the ability to get through situations alone that many others would need help with. The reason that they are able to do this is not really the best, but the results are good for the strength of the individual.

Obviously my personal situation has allowed me to gain an opinion of this topic, but I also know that Im not the only child of divorced parents that feel this way. With the increased number of divorces, there is a greater chance of me meeting someone in my situation. I have met more than a few people that share the same views as I do. More often than not the focus of the debate is the affects on the children, but I am one of those individuals. I have lived through the problems addressed, along with many others. These problems have affected use the same way, but we react to them very differently. Many of us become stronger, but there is some that break under the pressure. Ultimately the happiness of the children is a direct result of the happiness of the primary caretaker. This means that although divorce seems like it is a fad, how can happiness be traded for what used to be the right thing to do?

The Idea of a University

Newman, John Henry. The Idea of University. Working with Ideas Reading, Writing, and Researching Experience. Ed. Donna Dunbar-Odom. Boston Houghton Mifflin, 001. 107-114

Using many similar descriptive phrases and citing past historical men and times, Cardinal John Henry Newman makes his case that a liberal education holds superior value for learning. A strong statement due to the borad meaning of it all.

Cardinal Newman points out that if a person knows only one subject, even though they have studied it thoroughly, they need to know how it compares and combines with the areas of all other studies. Newman knows students cannot pursue every subject but can benefit by encountering others and their ideas. He wants students to learn to respect all branches of knowledge and understand each other through consulting and helping one another. They will be the gainers by living among those and under those who represent the whole circle. (Newman 108) Help with essay on The Idea of a University (John Henry Newman)

Newmans second disclosure addresses the concept of intellectual enlargement. The Cardinal encourages the belief that we must compare ideas with one another. He states communicating ideas is essential to the learning process and will create an understanding of what surrounds us by putting it into meaningful order. The broad understanding will bring confidence in problem solving and decision making.

Newman finally states a University training is the great ordinary means to a great but ordinary end. (Newman 11) University training should be a common, usual method of obtaining and experiencing a full value for learning and life in general, which should be common for everyone. Newman believes that a liberal arts education can produce a member of society with many intellectual capabilities.

In the novel, A Farewell To Arms, by Ernest Hemingway, rain is used as a symbol. Rain symbolized sorrow from Henry and Catherine. Rain is tears of great loss and hopelessness. Rain is a symbol of death throughout the novel.

In the first chapter Hemingway introduces rain as a symbol of death. Rain becomes a symbol of death by bringing Cholera to the troops at the start of winter. The Cholera brought by rain killed seven thousand soldiers.

"At the start of the winter came the permanent rain and with the rain came the cholera. But it was checked and in the end only seven thousand died of it in the army." Pg.4

The reader will think of death when reading of rain in war. Black chestnut trunks caused by rain foreshadow deaths caused by battle to win the mountain behind the chestnut tree forest. The following year the mountain behind the chestnut tree forest is conquered. Hemingway foreshadows death in battle for the mountain by adding in the same sentence the picture of rain falling on the chestnut tree forest in front of the mountain, stripping the branches of its leaves and painting the trunks black. Black is a symbolic color representing death.

pg.

"To the north we could look across a valley and see a forest of chestnut trees and behind it another mountain on this side of the river. There was fighting for that mountain too, but

it was not successful, and in the fall when the rains came the leaves all fell from the chestnut trees and the branches were bare and the trunks black with rain." Pg. 4

Rain is a symbol of death during the retreat. The "Battle police" interrogates soldiers and civilians to find officers they believe abandoned their troops. In the rain officers are interrogated for their troops, the officers are lined up and killed one by one. The officer is not allowed to give an explanation. The rain represents unjust death brought by people who think they are the law.

Rain is a symbol of sorrow as Henry departs from Catherine and heads back to the front. The rain represents the grief felt by Henry and Catherine. The separation is powerful with rain representing the grief Henry and Catherine do not express with action. Hemingways use of rain makes the reader experience what the characters feel without writing that they are sad. Henry and Catherine show more emotion alone than out in the open. Henry does not allow Catherine to walk him so the separation is not harder to endure.

Hemingway demonstrates Henry and Catherines personality by making rain represent their feelings. Rain is tears in time of pain and hopelessness.

Rain is a symbol of Henrys sorrow for Catherines death and represents Henrys tears. The falling rain is Henrys tears and gives the reader a strong feeling of grief. The rain helps the reader know Henrys feelings with out using many words. Rain is tears of hopelessness set upon an officer going to be killed by the Battle police. The officer cries because he is fighting for his country and will be killed for something that he has no fault of.

"This officer too was separated from his troops. He was not allowed to make and explanation. He cried when they read the sentence from the pad of paper, and they were questioning another when they shot him." pg.4

He is convicted because other people think he has done wrong. The officer is not allowed an explanation for his behalf.

The rain adds to the depth of the text by giving power to the feeling or idea portrayed by

Hemingway. The rain symbols help understand what the character is experiencing. The symbols help recognize what Hemingway wants us to think and feel to better understand the story. The symbols portrayed on characters help understand their personality and actions. Hemingway is successful in helping the reader understand the novel with the use of his symbolic rain.

In the 10s, after Adolf Hitler had come to power, the Nazis encouraged anti-Semitism in Germany through propaganda. Source 1 is an example of anti-Semitic propaganda used to promote the boycott of all Jewish department stores throughout Germany. The cartoon was published in the Nazi party magazine in the 10s. Therefore it is likely to be biased towards the ideology of the Nazi party and as the magazine was mainly distributed to Nazi party members, it was already 'preaching to the converted. The cartoon portrays the big Jewish businessman as a greedy octopus, with a stereotypical Jewish face, who 'eats up small German traders. Its purpose was to demonstrate the central role of the party, which was anti-semitism, and also to encourage the German population to boycott all Jewish owned department stores. However, we cannot be entirely sure whether this piece of propaganda was effective in influencing the German population or whether it had no effect at all. Although we do have evidence that suggest that the propaganda used to promote the boycott was unsuccessful as many Germans ignored it. Source agrees with this and even goes on to say that the German public 'demonstratively preferred to shop in the Jewish department stores and were 'unfriendly to the SA men on duty outside. As well as this, source also agrees that the anti-Semitic propaganda was moderately ineffective saying that the 'vast majority of the population ignore this defamation of the Jews. However, this information could be unreliable as a Nazi opposition party, the Social Democratic Party, wrote it in 1. Therefore it would be biased against the Nazis. Especially as in 15 the SDP were feeling vulnerable and also thoroughly believed that the Nazi government would collapse, allowing them to take power. Nevertheless it was a secret report and would have never been published publicly. It is doubtful that the SDP would have reported something that was false if it was to never be shown to the public. In that respect, this source may be reliable. However, source also suggests that anti-Semitic propaganda or at least the growing anti-Semitism in Germany did influence the German public. It says that there were 'enough people who were influenced by the defamation by the Jews, even becoming 'fanatical opponents of the Jews.

Both source 4 and 5 do agree that though action was taken against, a great deal of the German public were not influenced by the anti-Semitic propaganda. Source 4 is a report also written by the Social Democratic Party who were in exile at the time. Consequently the reliability of this source is questionable. How did the SDP know what was happening in Germany when they were in a different country? Other factors about the reliability of the SDP, mentioned above, also have to be taken into account. Source 4 agrees that anti-Semitic propaganda was ineffective as 'the broad mass of the people [have] not condoned the destruction. However, it does appear to largely agree that there were people who were anti-Semitic, 'nevertheless do not overlook the fact that there are people among the working class who do not defend the Jews. In source 5, an American consul describes the events of Kristallnacht, a night where a series of attacks against the Jews took place. The acts of violence and theft were hailed by the Nazi party as a 'spontaneous wave of righteous indignation against the Jews. However, the American consul refutes this. He says that the local crowds who observed the destruction were 'benumbed and 'aghast over the events of the night. Thus proving that the Nazis anti-Semitic propaganda was not having a massive effect on the German public. However, do not know whether anti-Semitic propaganda influenced the German public from this source or even whether the events of Kristallnacht were undertaken by the German population The source describes the events of Kristallnacht as 'Nazi acts suggesting that it was mainly the Nazis who instigated and carried out the violence and destruction of that night, and not the German public. The fact that this report was written by an American diplomat means that the information that he will report back to his country with has to accurate. Therefore making this source very reliable. Source 6 is a secret report prepared by the Nazi party Supreme Court after the events of Kristallnacht. The source suggests that anti-Jewish demonstrations were 'not to be prepared or organised by the Nazi party. Nevertheless the Nazis didnt discourage the demonstrations if they 'originated spontaneously. Simply put the Nazis should not appear to originate demonstrations, but in reality they should organise and carry them out. This agrees with source 5 in that it is evidence that the Nazis were the main perpetrators of the events of Kristallnacht. The Nazi party members were encouraged to carry out anti-Semitic demonstrations. Thus suggesting that the events of that night did not involve the mass majority of the German population, who therefore to a certain extent had not been influenced by Nazi anti-Semitic propaganda.

Source 6 suggests that anti-Semitic propaganda was effective. It was written by a German woman who was describing her first hand experiences in Nazi Germany, therefore making it a primary source and a highly valuable piece of evidence. She describes how it was 'preached to the German public that the Jewish spirit was 'seditious and that Jewish blood was 'corrupting. This was most likely done by the anti-Semitic propaganda the Nazi produced. She tells of how she did not think of her Jewish friends in such a way, 'I thought of only the bogey-man, 'The Jew. This was how Jewish people were portrayed in anti-Semitic propaganda. For example the Jewish businessman portrayed in source 1 has a stereotypical Jewish face, with a grotesque face and large nose. Therefore this womans beliefs at that time do suggest that the propaganda did influence some Germans. This womans views cannot be completely generalised, as its only one persons perception. However, in another respect it can be generalised, as it is consistent of what we know of German life. Nevertheless the reliability of the source has again got to be called into question. The source was written in 164, not when Hitler was in power. Some details of her account may have changed over time. She may also be re-thinking the beliefs she held at that time and feel guilty. Thus trying to put her and the German public in a better light. However, this source does agree that anti-Semitic propaganda was effective in influencing the German population.

There are always people who, in a group, come out with better qualities as a

leader than others. The strongest people however, become the greater influences, which

the others decide to follow. However, sometimes the strongest person is not the best

choice. Authors often show how humans select this stronger person, in order to give an

Custom Essays on Comparison of Jack and Ralph in Lord of the flies

understanding of the different powers that some people can posses over others. In

William Goldings novel, Lord of the Flies Ralph though not the stronger person,

demonstrates a better understanding of people which gives Ralph better leadership

qualities than Jack.

Ralph displays useful human qualities as a leader by working towards the

betterment of the boys society. He knows that in order to stay civilized the boys need

stability and order. He creates rules and a simple form of government to achieve this

order. Ralph understands that the boys, particularly Piggy, have to be given respect and

must be treated as equals. This makes Ralph a better leader, as he is able to acknowledge

that he was not superior to any of the other boys. Ralphs wisdom and ability to look to

the future also make him a superior leader. Ralph has the sense to keep his focus on

getting off the island. He insists on keeping the fire burning as a distress signal. Ralphs

leadership provides peace and order to the island while Jacks leadership creates chaos.

Under Jacks rule, the boys become uncivilized savages. They have no discipline.

Ralph, however, keeps the boys under order through the meetings, which he himself

calls. At these meetings a sense of order is instilled because the boys have to wait until

they hold the conch to speak. When Ralph says, Ill give the conch to the next person to

speak. He can hold it when hes speaking. (Golding 6) by making such rules as these,

and by giving the boys the stability of an authority figure, mainly himself, he enforces his

role of leader. He wins the boys respect and confidence in his leadership abilities. Ralph

uses his authority to try to improve the boys society. By building shelters he

demonstrates his knowledge of the boys needs. When he says to Jack, They talk and

scream. The littluns. Even some of the others. (Golding 56) he is referring to why the

boys need shelters; they are afraid. Jack fails to realize the boys need security, stability

and order in their society. Ralph understands that by building the shelters, the boys will

feel more secure. This illustrates his superior knowledge of people, which makes him a

better leader than Jack.

Ralphs treatment of the boys demonstrates his understanding of how people

should be treated. While Jack considers the boys inferior to himself, Ralph treats the boys

as equals. Ralphs superior leadership qualities are reflected in his constant defense of

Piggy. Piggy is the weakest of the group and is therefore treated unfairly much of the

time. When Jack hits Piggy and breaks his glasses, Ralph calls it A dirty trick. (Golding

78) Ralphs compassion and ability to empathize with others thus illustrating his

understanding of people; while at the same time demonstrates Jacks disregard for other

humans. Ralphs government is a form of democracy which gives each boy equal rights

and an ability to express themselves. Jack treats the boys, especially Piggy, as inferiors.

When Jack gets meat from hunting, he gives everyone some except for Piggy. When

Piggy asks for some, Jack says, You didnt hunt. (Golding 80) Ralph and many of the

littluns did not hunt, yet only this treatment is directed at Piggy. Jacks contempt for

Piggy shows his inability to understand people, while a good leader would take care of all

of his followers. Ralph possesses this understanding and is therefore a better leader.

Ralphs common sense and ability to recognize what is best for the group as a

whole further demonstrates his superior leadership skills. His main focus throughout the

book is getting rescued and he puts much emphasis on this. He instructs the boys to make

a fire and to keep it burning as a distress signal. When the boys do not share his

enthusiasm for getting rescued, he becomes exasperated. The fire is the most important

thing on the island. How can we ever be rescued except by luck, if we dont keep the fire

going? (Golding 88) Ralphs determination to get rescued is not for purely selfish

reasons, but rather, it is in the best interest of the group. When the boys join Jacks tribe;

Jack only satisfies their short term wants and needs, such as the desire for meat. A good

leader however, should look to the future and plan accordingly such as Ralph does.

Although these choices may not always be popular, the better leader will carry out long

term plans. When Piggy says Which is better - to be a pack of painted niggers like you

are, or to be sensible like Ralph is? (Golding 1) he demonstrates how the boys; by not

following Ralph, have been lead astray by Jack. Ralphs main priority, is getting off the

island, a much wiser choice for the boys to follow. Unfortunately, the boys decide to

follow Jack, whose main priority is to hunt and play games rather than try to be saved.

Had they listened to the better leader, the novel may not have ended as tragically.

Ralphs clear understanding of people and their needs make him a far superior

leader when compared with Jack. Ralphs understanding of the boys need for stability and

order through government and rules prompts him to improve the society in which they

are living. Jacks society was barbaric and savage and met none of these needs. Jack treats

the boys as slaves and inferiors. Ralphs patience and caring with the boys shows his

ability to take charge and rule in an effective, yet democratic fashion. Ralphs priority to

get off the island demonstrates his wisdom and ability to make decisions. Although a

good leader may not be as charismatic as a poor one, it is important to choose the leader

who will meet the needs of the people. The popularity of an inferior leader soon

disappears, yet the wisdom and guidance of a good leader will always remain.

Concepts all around are made to make sense. If there wouldnt be a concept to something, that something would have no point or meaning. A concept such as using visualization in the sport football makes perfect sense and meaning.

"Visualize and attack!!" Yells a coach to a player. Coaches like their players to have plays stored in their minds and visualize them over and over. The concept of visualizing a play is that when the player visualizes a passing play, he is always a step ahead of what hes doing. When playing on defense, players can recognize some plays as being either a running play or a passing play. If a lineman recognizes the running back seven yards away from the line he knows that the play is a running play, so he looks over to the blockers to the right and notice that they knuckles are white. From that point on that lineman has visualized what is going on, and that is a running play to the right. To take down the running back, the lineman is visualizing what hole the running back will pick to run through and he will take him down with the whole offense stunned of his discovery.

Visualizing is not just done in football, but everyday things. When someone wakes up in the morning they visualize what they have to do before going to work or school. You wake up, you take a shower, you brush your teeth, your shave, you dress, you eat breakfast and youre off to your destination. All that was visualized in your head before you even took action. People sometimes dont have to visualize things that have turned into a habit or obsessive-compulsive like behavior.

Visualizing things ahead of time is not only a good thing its a precaution of what may happen to you. Skateboarders and snowboarders visualized themselves pulling a trick before they do it to avoid falling a bad way that can seriously injure them.

So next time you are heading down the slopes and want to hit up a rail, all you have to do I visualize then visualize again. When you visualize a 50-50 grind to a board slide, you have more time to control yourself to express your style.

Once upon a time there lived a boy named Marcus. Marcus lived in planet Alpha, the world with no emotions. Alpha was the world without love, without hate, without joy, without sadness, and most revered Alpha was the world without pain. Marcus was the only resident of Alpha. He lived there all by himself, quite content with life on this wonderful planet where emotions cannot live. Marcus was in his own world, his planet.

Many light-years away from planet Alpha was another planet, planet Beta. Beta was the world of emotions. Beta was a very big world, with many residents that were blessed and cursed with emotions. Marcus was once a resident of Beta. As a matter of fact he lived there for almost a decade. One day Marcus was cursed with an emotion that drove him to Alpha. He built a home on alpha and told himself that he must never go back to Beta again.

Since there was no love on planet Alpha, there was no heartbreak, and since there was no hate there was no war. Alpha was the world where everything was logical and everything was physically real. There wasnt anything that existed that cannot be touched or felt. What made Alpha this emotionless world was the fact that its built on the principle "If you cant see it, hear it, smell it or touch it, it doesnt exist".

After many years on the planet Alpha, Marcus began to think about returning to Beta. He had forgotten about why he went into exile on planet Alpha, in the first place. So Marcus woke up the next morning and said to himself, "Im going back to Beta". The very next moment he heard a voice say to him "You have returned to Beta already". Marcus was surprised and he simply let himself go.

Marcus began to feel emotions again. He saw people smiling and laughing, then he saw children playing happily, and this made him smile. Marcus was now re-introduced to the feeling happiness. He was taken aback by this sudden feeling, this emotion, he liked. Marcus paused for a moment and said to himself "This is good, I wonder what more of this is there?" Marcus decided to play with the children to find out "what more of this is there". The children made him laugh. Marcus then said to himself "Wow, this feels even better than what I felt moments ago". Now Marcus sat down and asked himself why did he deprive himself of this wonderful thing called "emotion"? He couldnt understand why he wasted the years he spent in Alpha.

Marcus was excited and filled with many more emotions. Before going to bed that night Marcus was happy and anxious to discover more emotions. He couldnt wait for the next day. Eventually Marcus fell asleep. He began to dream, he was flying, flying very calmly and the warmth of the sun was all over him. On awakening he was amazed and ecstatic about this dream. Dreaming was new to Marcus, since dreams are not physical the too did not exist on planet Alpha.

The next day Marcus two little children fighting, in the process one of the children cried. A tear rolled down his cheek, he was now re-introduced to sadness. Marcus hated this emotion; he sat on a park bench and began to consider his return to Alpha. Moments later the children reconciled and continued to play happily. Marcus felt happiness again and decided to stay. He then decided that hell go through this bad feeling of sadness and stay in Beta for the moments of happiness, believing therell be more moments of happiness than sadness.

As time went by, Marcus was slowly being re-introduced to emotions. He felt the sweet taste of glory and sometimes the bitter taste of failure. Marcus did not let the negative emotions get him down. He was determined to persevere, to stay in Beta and to do his best to taste more of the positive emotions.

Marcus made many friends on Beta during his stay thus far. Marcus was then introduced to the worst of all emotions hate. One of his closest friends deceived him. This act of deception filled Marcus with hatred towards his so-called friend. Marcus then went into depression for a long time. He was highly determined to stay on planet Beta, and so he did. Marcus then learnt how to humble himself and eradicate this hate virus, which flowed strongly through his veins. Marcus asked himself "Was it this emotion that drove me to Alpha? Was it hate?". He got engrossed in deep thought about what drove him to Alpha. He now believed that if he could overcome hatred, he could overcome anything and therefore nothing at all could drive to Alpha.

Further into his stay on Beta, Marcus felt a very new emotion, infatuation. Marcus, however, believed he was in love. Marcus was excited, all he wanted was to be with this girl, he infatuated over. He began to court her, and in time Marcus was convinced that she loved him. Then one sad day she committed the same act of deception upon him that his old "friend" did. Marcus felt heartbroken, so he thought. He hated this girl for a while and remembered how to overcome hate. Marcus humbled himself again. He prayed that this act of deception committed unto him is not committed unto those who have committed it unto him. He then prayed they change and do not commit this act unto others.

Little did Marcus realize, he was slowly moving towards discovering why he left Beta for Alpha many years ago. Marcus was then blessed with the greatest emotion of all, true love. Marcus fell in love for real; he finally felt what it is to love someone. More importantly than that he felt what it is to be loved. Marcus was so happy with the decision he made many years ago, to return to Beta. Marcus was grateful to be blessed with this feeling.

As time went by the emotion of love grew stronger and stronger within Marcus and the mental existence of Alpha disappeared. Life was great; Marcus loved and was loved. Marcus had everything. Marcus then became determined to ensure that he has everything, but in that determination the love for Marcus was being lost. To love is nothing, to be loved is something, to love and be loved is everything. Suddenly, Marcus had nothing. His subconscious fear of losing everything drove the one Marcus loved into re-introducing Marcus to heartbreak. Marcus suddenly realized what drove him to Alpha. He sat to himself "This is what drove me to Alpha many years ago, this cursed emotion, this emotion called heartbreak, this pain this agony. What do I do now? Do I return to Alpha or do I take the challenge and stay here in Beta?"

What is philosophy?

What we need from you is to provide us with your detailed paper instructions for our experienced writers to follow all of your specific writing requirements. According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, "Philosophy is the critical examination of the grounds for fundamental beliefs and analysis of the basic concepts employed in the expression of such beliefs. Britannica also defines philosophy as reflection on the varieties of human experience, or as the rational, methodical, and systematic consideration of the topics that are of greatest concern to mankind." Or as the Greeks would call it "love of wisdom". Philosophy probes and asks probing questions, but can every question be reasoned? And even more important, who defines what the most important question is? I think that when it comes to your every day Joe, or Joanne, we decide for ourselves what the most important question is because philosophy is subjective; it is also cultural and exceedingly personal.

Philosophy, Ive learned, touches every aspect of our lives and is very much reflective of who we are as human beings. The great philosophers throughout history deserve enormous credit for coming up with their philosophical theories within the differing fields and styles of philosophy. Be it Platos theory of the Forms or William Ockhams principle known as Ockhams Razor, its these philosophers who have paved the way for us "normal" folk to learn and apply their theories, working them into our introspective thought processes and deciding whether or not they work for us. Philosophy is subjective in just this way , as it opens, or closes, intellectual doors and gives to who we are for having studied those philosophers differing viewpoints. Were all better people for having learned about Platos "Form Land" even if some of us may not agree with the idea of a transcendent world where realities called Forms exist beyond space and time and independently from our minds and wills. Ockhams Razor gave us the tool to cut away all of those unnecessary principles and realities (like Form Land) and get right to the simplest explanation for lifes important questions.

Philosophy is cultural especially when applied to religion. All of the worlds great religions have produced significant philosophical and theological thought, such as the most important philosophical question to me, the argument for the existence of God. While Christianity, Buddhism or Islam employ its own unique twist on their respective religions beliefs, the underlying opinion remains. This basic faith assertion is that each person should treat others in a decent manner. It is often expressed as "Do unto others as you would wish them do unto you." This is the human commonality that links our religions all together across culture, space and time.

Finally, philosophy, to the normal, every day Joe, or Joanne, is exceptionally personal. At some point in every persons life, I believe there comes a time when we take a good hard look at who we are inside and ask ourselves those difficult questions "Who am I?" "What do I stand for?" and "How can I make a difference?" Many of us spend our entire adult lives in search of those answers and more in a never-ending quest to be the best person we can be, particularly in relationships. Be it with a lover, a child, a friend, a co-worker or even God, we constantly have to ask ourselves, "What can I do to make this relationship better?" It can open the floodgate to self-actualization, our own personal philosophical take on life.

Order custom research paper on What is philosophy?

Philosophy in the most fundamental way is weaved throughout humanity, in religion, politics, mathematics, science etc. It takes on the most difficult questions of mankind, or the average Joe, it crosses geographical plains and attempts to make sense of this world that we live in.

Have you ever wondered, what it would be like to mountain bike in Hawaii? Where priests (kahuna) and royalty (ali`i) roamed. Also, where human sacrifices ordained in the cases of grave illnesses, for the birth of a first born son, success in war, and to prevent natural disasters.

With all the treacherous hills and tranquilizing sounds of the wind, inspiring views of the mountains and waterfalls; the adventure is exhausting, extraordinary, extreme torture, and astonishing. A trail that I favor the most out of other popular trails in Hawaii The Aiea Loop Trail. The Trail being so breathtaking, that it became a weekend ritual that my friends and I had to challenge its dangerous route. Mountain biking is a sport to some people; is a way to relax, and get a good exercise to other people. Mountain Biking is a challenge for me; a challenge to over come all the fears that I have deep inside that need to escape. Let me take you the long ten-mile journey through the Aiea Loop Trail.

A devastating and long waited journey started at about six thirty in the morning, by charging up my weakened body with ice-cold refreshing water and some delicious energy bars. Each of us is in our own world when we ride, observing what we are leaving behind Houses, cars, shopping centers, baseball parks, and gravel roads. Knowingly, the journey ahead of us is a way to escape our fears and the things we do on a daily basis; and if there is anything that we do not know how to accomplish effectively;

we will accomplish this ride¾with bloody shins, bruised buttocks, and a feeling with happiness and enjoyment that we had beat the Aiea Loop trail¾and start a new week and wait anxiously for the next weekend. Write my Essay on Mountain Biking Aiea Loop TrailThe Most Feared Trail In Hawaii

As I strapped my helmet securely to my head, and appeased my shades on, I jumped onto my bike like I was a cowboy jumping onto his horse, I rode off into the mountains as if I were running away from the world. The start of the trail was bumpy and very muddy, because of the tropical environment. My skills helped me overcome those unsophisticated obstacles. By mastering the braking system that was equipped with my bike, I could easily get through the muddy trails. With the help of the dual suspension on the bike I glided like the wind though the bumpy dark trail. Speeding down the trail, my eyes became watery from the wind blowing into my face, though my shades are on to keep the glare from disrupting my view, the wind crept in from the sides. The trail is not like a normal trail that you would hike on, there are steep hills and steep drops that are at times have sixty-degree angles and four to seven foot drops. The skill involved climbing the hills is in a sense changing a stick shift in a car, but the process in getting to the top is not as easy as driving a car.

Finally, arriving at the bottom of the trail was an easy challenge, I had to tackle devils cliff, which are cliffs going down, the degree of the angles are about eighty degrees. In which I successfully accomplished by bunny hopping off the cliff, then bunny hopping off the next cliff. Coming to a stop to the last cliff, I calculated and memorized the deadly path that was ahead of me. I gripped my sweaty hands on the handlebars, gently touching the brake levers, adjusted my butt behind my seat so that

most of my weight is on the back tire. I peacefully pedaled off the cliff, dodging tree logs, braches and rocks. Reaching the end of the cliff, I couldnt stop, I needed speed.

With many obstacles that I encountered on my ride, the rest of the trail ahead of me, had a major, wet and disgusting obstacle in its path Aiea Stream. Its length is twenty feet wide, and the only thing that I could have done to avoid the stream, was to jump the stream. There is a man-made dirt mound five feet from the stream that I used to jump the stream. While viewing my speedometer, I cleared the jump at about forty-five miles an hour in the air¾achieving an outstanding table top¾but I did not land as clean as I hoped. My body landed ten feet from my bike and my face landed clean on the ground. The taste of blood and dirt in my mouth¾a combination of warm salty bitterness and dry grainy gritwas not surpassingly tasty. With the surprising and avoidable accident, it was time to lay back, relax, and enjoy the stunning view of the mountains and light blue skies. Enjoying an afternoon in the tropical forest is very remarkable. The taste of fresh cold water from the mountains was cleansing and soothing feeling for my painful mouth, not like tap water from your house. The scent of fresh passion-orange guava fruit and the relaxing sound of Aiea stream, hypnotized my thoughts as well as my presence; that day was a good day to crash and burn.

While Filling up my camel-pack with water from Aiea Stream, I started out on the rest my journey. Two miles left, I felt the evil presence of Dead Mans Hill. Dead Mans Hill is what is feared by all of the Aiea Loop Trail. The hill is at a hideous sixty-degree angle, with scary three feet wide path and is two miles long. This hill is exhaustingly and deadly, which requires extreme skillful tactics. While pedaling in the lowest gear

possible, balancing myself on the narrow three foot wide trail and observing the seventy foot drop below, I was forced to concentrate, and skillfully use my gears accordingly. The last quarter mile of the trail is what I have always looked forward to. When you can overlook the gulch and view the gamble you had taken, that you had successfully crossed and still alive with minor bruises. And I calmly, expressively patted myself on the back and said "It was a good day to ride"

Mountain Biking in Hawaii is wonderful and a great experience to share with your family and friends. With all the trails designated for mountain biking in Hawaii, the Aiea Trail is highly recommended and is only recommended for advanced riders. You will experience the ride of your life with wonderful views, painful spills, and a memorable time in the mountains of Hawaii.

Lung cancer

The environmental disease, lung cancer, is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in one or both lungs. These cancerous cells are generally caused by mutations in the normal cells from exposure to carcinogens, or cancer-causing agents. Normal cells in the body are renewed and multiply by mitosis. The cells replace the old cells and continue to function normally. However, abnormal calls grow and replicate but do not act and function as the normal lung tissue. Over time, these abnormal cells turn into lumps (tumours). In a benign tumour the cells do not spread to other parts of the body and so are not cancerous. If they continue to grow at the original site, however, they may cause a problem by pressing on the surrounding organs. A malignant tumour consists of cancer cells that have the ability to spread beyond the original site. If the tumour is left untreated, it may invade and destroy surrounding tissue. Sometimes cells break away from the original (primary) cancer and spread to other organs in the body through the bloodstream or lymphatic system. When these cells reach a new site they may go on dividing and form a new tumour.

Types of lung cancer

Cheap Custom Essays on lung cancer

There are two major types of lung cancer non-small cell lung cancer and small cell lung cancer. The cancer cells of each type grow and spread in different ways. The types of non-small cell lung cancer are named for the kinds of cells found in the cancer and how the cells look when viewed under a microscope.

Non-small cell lung cancer are divided into three types

·SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA Also called Epidermoid Carcinoma, this cancer begins in the squamous cells. They are thin, flat cells located in the bronchial tubes.

·ADENOCARCINOMAS Develops from cells which produce mucus and found in the lining of the airways.

·LARGE CELL CARCINOMA Large and abnormal looking cells when examined under microscope and found near the surface of the lung.

Small cell lung cancer, also called Oat cell cancer accounts for 0% of lung cancer. Non-small cell lung cancer accounts for about 80%.

What causes lung cancer?

·Cigarette smoking is known to be the cause of most lung cancers. The risk of developing the disease increases with the number of cigarettes smoked, and if people start to smoke at a young age.

·Passive smoking slightly increases the risk of lung disease and cancer.

·Exposures with asbestos have a higher risk of lung cancer, especially if people smoke. Asbestos exposure also increases the risk of mesothelioma, a cancer of the membranes, which cover the lungs.

·In some parts of the UK, a naturally occurring gas, called radon gas, can pass from the soil into the foundations of buildings. It is now thought that this gas, in high concentrations, may increase the risk of developing lung cancer.

·Contact with certain chemicals and substances, such as uranium, chromium and nickel, can cause lung cancer, but these are very rare causes.

·Air pollution is thought to be a cause of lung cancer but this is difficult to prove.

Symptoms

·A cough that doesnt go away.

·Shortness of breath.

·Chest pain that doesnt go away.

·Wheezing.

·Coughing up blood.

·Hoarseness.

·Swelling of the face and neck.

·Loss of appetite.

·Unexplained weight loss.

·Unusual tiredness.

·A chest infection that does not get better

·A dull ache or a sharp pain when you cough or take a deep breath

Treatment

There are three main standard treatments used to treat lung cancer SURGERY, RADIOTHERAPY, AND CHEMOTHERAPY. These treatments may be used separately, or together to treat the lung cancer. The treatment is determined by taking into account

·The patients general health and well-being

·The type and size of the tumour

·The appearance of the tumour under the microscope

·Whether it had spread beyond the lung

SURGERY

The three types of surgery used for non-small cell lung cancer is

·WEDGE RESECTION The removal of a small tumour and surrounding lung tissue

·LOBECTOMY The removal of a whole lobe (section) of lung

·PNEUMONECTOMY The removal of a whole lung

For small cell lung cancer, surgery is very rarely used, as the cancer has usually spread to other parts of the body before being diagnosed, even if it cannot be seen on the scan. Chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy are usually more effective in treating small cell lung cancer. Occasionally, surgery may be used to help determine the patients exact type of lung cancer.

CHEMOTHERAPY

Chemotherapy is a cancer treatment that uses drugs to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping the cells from dividing. Chemotherapy may be taken by mouth, or it may be put into the body by inserting a needle into a vein or muscle where the drugs enter the bloodstream and can affect cancer cells throughout the body (systemic chemotherapy).

RADIOTHERAPY

Radiation therapy is the use of x-rays or other types of radiation to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. . There are two types of radiation therapy external radiation and internal radiation. Internal radiation involves putting radioisotopes (materials that produce radiation) through thin plastic tubes into the area where cancer cells are found. External radiation uses a machine outside the body to send radiation toward the cancer.

The early development of perspective

Prior to the Renaissance artists were less concerned with the illusion of reality and more concerned with the content and symbolism of their work. The size of each element in the image related much more to its importance, rather than its placement in a space.

Artist unknown. Madonna and child. Help with essay on the early developement of Perspective

Notice how large the Madonna and child are compared to the rest of the image.

Artist unknown. Garden Scene.

Look at this image, examine its composition, how is perspective used in this picture? What is the most important element? how can you tell?

By the height of the Renaissance, artists had mastered the mathematics and visual techniques of perspective. Artists such as Brunelleschi, Leonardo DaVinci and Piero della Francesca were using it to great effect, giving their work a stronger illusion depth.

Piero della Francesca. St. Anthonys Polyptich (detail)

Brunelleschi devised the method of perspective for architectural purposes -- he is said by Manetti to have made a ground plan for the Church of Santo Spirito on the basis of which he produced a perspective drawing to show his clients how it would look after it was built. We can compare this drawing with a modern photo of the actual church.

Brunelleschi, Drawing for Church of Santo Spirito.

Ten years later, Masaccio applied the new method of mathematical perspective even more spectacularly

1.In this fresco of the Holy Trinity, where the barrel vaulted ceiling is incredible in its complex, mathematical use of perspective.

.Lines following Masaccios actual geometric framework are overlaid to make clear the structure of the perspective itself.

.From the geometry it is actually possible to work backwards to reconstruct the full volume in measured accuracy of the -dimensional space Masaccio depicts

1. . .

Masaccio. Holy Trinity.

The rules of perspective

One point perspective

The simplest form of perspective is one point perspective. It presumes a single Point, which all others move towards. It Is like looking down a straight road as far as you can see, lines which we know are parallel seem to converge on a single point known as the Vanishing Point. We can see this in the picture of the Agora in Athens. (Below)

View of the Agora

To draw in one point perspective, draw a horizon line and draw a vanishing point anywhere on the horizon. Lines which are parallel in real life are drawn to intersect at the vanishing point.

All lines travel to the vanishing point in both these drawings.

Distant figures appear smaller but have the same shape and proportions as they would close up.

Two point perspective

This is all very fine if you are looking at a thing face on down a corridor, but what if you are facing the edge of something? This is where point perspective comes in.

We are now looking at an object from slightly above and we can see more of the object in question, giving an even stronger sense of its -dimensional form.

By lowering or Horizon Line, we can alter our view of the object to make it seem to loom over our viewers. It is important to remember that the horizon line is always at the level of your eyes, regardless of whether yo are looking from above or below an object.

Piranesi used this technique to great effect in his drawing Fantasy on a Magnificent Triumphal Arch-1765.

In the weeks and months following the publication of Upton Sinclairs The Jungle, there were many discussions about this novel. Considered crude and blunt in his naturalistic method, Sinclair was said to over exaggerate the difficulties that Jurgis Rudkus and his extended family faced. Sinclair effectively made his point through the use of his characters, the setting and figurative language. An active advocate of Socialism, Sinclair wrote his novel to expose the horrible conditions in which the working class was forced to live. Constructing characters who were to be defeated was meant to soften the readers heart, propaganda for the message of Socialism.

Although there was no doubt that the Chicago stockyards or Packingtown held a lower standard of life than was considered the American Dream, it was implausible that one family would confront so many hardships. The author describes Chicago as a savage place, a jungle, which is a harsh but accurate depiction of Packingtown in the early twentieth century. Every horror that the family encounters advocates Sinclairs support of Socialism. Taking the reader through the packing plant exposes the unsanitary conditions that were ever prevalent in the stockyards. It is said that The Jungle hit peoples stomachs, not their hearts. Sinclair did not mind however as it propelled the working men of America into the eye of the public. Descriptions such as the following two that are found on page 6 were likely meant to raise the national consciousness. It seemed that they must have agencies all over the country, to hunt out old and crippled and diseased cattle to be canned" and "there were cattle which had been fed on whiskey malt, the refuse of the breweries, and had become what men called steerly--which means covered with boils".

The setting was meant to provide a comparison between Packingtown and those who lived in lavish extravagance. In chapter twenty-four Sinclair tells of how Jurgis met a Master Freddie the son of Mr. Durham, the owner of the packing plant in which Jurgis once worked. Dramatic comparisons were drawn between the difference in wealth of the rich and poor, showing what Sinclair considered a huge problem with Capitalism. "Wanta see the place, ole chappie? Wamme play the guvner--show you roun? State parlors--Looee Cans--Looee Sez--chairs cost three thousand apiece. Tea room Maryanntnet--picture of shepherds dancing--Ruysdael--twenty-three thousan! Ballroom--balcny pillars--hic--imported--special ship--sixty-eight thousan!" The author uses the setting to teach us that the condition in which the working class was living was unfit for humans. Men lived in rooms without windows; many were homeless yet others were living in luxury that the former could not imagine.

The story is told through the eyes of Lithuanian immigrants, flat characters whose dreams for the future are eventually crushed after becoming the Everyman of America. Sinclair does not sacrifice his message for the sake of believable characters and a credible plot. Jurgis is a character with little history or personality. Coming to America he is portrayed as a hard worker very much in love with his new wife, Ona. In chapter two the author introduces the reader to his naïve aspirations. Jurgis talked lightly about work, because he was young. They told him stories about the breaking down of men, there in the stockyards of Chicago, and of what happened to them afterward--stories to make your flesh creep, but Jurgis would only laugh." This attitude of hard work persisted and Jurgis was proud to be a cog in this marvelous machine. After time however, his opinion on life in the stockyards had greatly changed. He no longer had hope of the future, but turned to alcohol to solve his problems.

Stumbling through life in the city, Jurgis is Sinclairs universal, a man who could be anyone. He was a meat-packer, a prisoner, a steelworker, a scab, a petty criminal, a hobo on the road and finally a converted socialist. He portrays the life that anyone could have, and the salvation that solves everyones problems. On page 10 Sinclair describes how the family has no reprieve from the work that they are tied to. Four or five miles to the east of them lay the blue waters of Lake Michigan; but for all the good it did them it might have been as far away as the Pacific Ocean. They had only Sundays, and then they were too tired to walk. They were tied to the great packing machine and tied to it for life. This contrast could be drawn between anyones life, any muckraker throughout the world, fed up with the inequality of Capitalism. This was Sinclairs goal, and although it is obvious, he makes his point; Socialism is the answer to the problems that plague the working class.

Sinclair uses figurative language in an attempt to create a novel of literary merit. Often this figurative language enables him to more effectively make his point. In chapter fourteen Ona is having difficulty with her health and Sinclair uses figurative language to strengthen his position. "…the accursed work she had to do, that was killing her by inches." As well in chapter twenty-eight Sinclair uses figurative language to make the speaker at the Socialism convention seem well educated. "I shall still be waiting--there is nothing else that I can do. There is no wilderness where I can hide from these things, there is no haven where I can escape them; though I travel to the ends of the earth, I find the same accursed system…" Although Sinclair is by no means the finest author, at times throughout The Jungle, his value as a novelist is evident.

In spite of the fact that The Jungle falls far short of a great novel, it is written as protest against the deceitful practices of the meat packing industry. This is the central theme of Sinclairs questioning of the competitive individualism that is Capitalism. Upton Sinclair uses the setting, his characters and figurative language to make his points. Although he is at times mundane and lifeless, Jurgis story is still interesting, and one cannot help but be carried along the plot. You find yourself at times agreeing with Sinclair, yet shaking your head at his dogmatic opinion. This novel contains a valuable history lesson.

What are the consequences of my delinquent behavior?

Because of my delinquent behavior Im having to face 55 hours of community service, my stuff taken away, not being allowed in Wal-Mart, and the debt I owe to my grandma (For the Fine) hanging over my head.

I guess what made me act the way I did, was I was facing what most call peer pressure. I was being influenced by the wrong people, people whom I called friends. Im guessing you would be thinking, Im 15 years old, Im old to know not to jump off a cliff if my friends told me too. But obviously I made that jump and it backfired. I realized that what I got was nothing I really needed and not worth the embarrassment I put my grandma through, the loss of trust and the consequences that Iam facing.

Because of my delinquent behavior in (Or should I say NOT in school), Im not being able to see my mom over the summer. Because Im taking summer school but when Im not in summer school I have to do community service. Completely screwing myself over relaxing and having the summer off.Cheap Custom Essays on walmart

But I deserve how Im being punished. Shoplifting isnt exactly a career option and ditching school isnt helping me graduate. I feel Im slowly learning my lesson, to finally straighten up my act and start taking stuff seriously. Because my future is coming quick and I cant slow it down, so its my decision NOW! How I want it to be!

Im in summer school until the end of August, Im taking a class that I failed at the beginning of the year. Though I cant do very much to catch up with all my other classes, at least Ill be caught up with one of the important ones. Im doing community service at a park near by and Im staying out of trouble. Well Im not going to lie to you and say, By the end of the six months Im going to be a straight A student with perfect attendance and never ever get trouble goody goody. But what Im going to tell you is Im trying, and I want to graduate and I dont want to be locked up for half or all my life. That Im going to do better and be able to do something with my life even if it kills me.

Stress Management

If you order your research paper from our custom writing service you will receive a perfectly written assignment on Stress Management. In this assignment I will identified my best and worst working times, time bandits, procrastination traits and stressors. I will be discussing them in more detail and explaining why they had an effect on me. I will also explain some of the activities (action plans) that I had done differently to work with my faults.

My best times, the times that I am the most productive, would probably be after supper when I have had time to distress from school and had something to eat. I feel refreshed and ready to tackle my homework or studying or whatever else would need to be done. I also work best when I am at school focusing on an assignment or in class. I think that my worst times were usually at about pm when I got bored with my homework and either would watch TV, talk on the phone or talk with someone. At these times I should have just taken a short break and got right back to it, but instead I got sidetracked or decided that I didnt want to do anything else for the evening.

I have noticed that my time bandits were watching TV when I know I should be doing something else. I dont really feel that watching TV could really help with anything besides maybe unwinding after school. I also talk on the phone a lot, but I feel that I may need to do this in order to not get so stressed out, by talking with people it helps me unload what is bothering me and what I can do about it.

Custom Essays on Stress Management

I procrastinate whenever I really dont want to do something. I dont feel that I have a certain time of the day that I procrastinate more in. I just know I do it when I feel that I could be doing something else. It usually has something to do with studying, homework, assignments or any other thing that I dont feel like doing at that time.

My stressors were mostly classes. I worry about not getting everything done on time. Which makes me really get stressed out. I also worry about how well I am actually doing in certain classes and the amount of time that I need to spend on those classes.

My action plan involves me understanding my weaknesses and adjusting my schedule to perform to the best of my abilities. With this plan I have learned to manage my time more efficiently and do the most important things first. I started by first making lists of the things that I felt were the most valuable things to do. I wrote up these lists and when I was finished completing a task I would cross it off the list, it gave me a good sense of accomplishment. I also bought a big erasable calendar that I mark the important dates and events in which helps me also to prioritize. I am trying to not watch as much TV because it was one of my huge time bandits, I will try to talk on the phone or to friends to distress instead although talking on the phone was also another time bandit it is also a stress reliever. Using my action plan I am trying to cut down on my procrastinating the lists that I made make it so what I have to get done is right in my face I see it all of the time. This makes me procrastinate less than before. With my stressors I dont really know a perfect action plan for that. I know for me talking with someone about it usually helps or just unwinding from a stressful day by breathing and also going to the gym it strengthens my body as well as my mind and lets me really relax and feel good.

In conclusion I have noticed my time bandits, stressors, times in which I work best and worst, my procrastination traits and stressors and devised an action plan to deal with these things. I feel that doing this exercise really made me look at what each of these characteristics of time and stress were for me and what I could do about them.

Money Is Power

By David Gray a.k.a Ruff Justice

Verse 1

Money is power so I gotta have some,

Then maybe youll listen to your prodigal son,

Gotta rise to the top n be number 1,

This aint fun, but its whats gotta be done,

I want outa the chase,

Dont wanna be the last to be safe,

From the street, wanna distance myself,

Sick of seein the inside of cells,

I never dreamed of this fate,

Never asked for this hand,

But I was delt it,

Mom said she was fine but she felt it,

Sick of hurtin my loved ones,

But whats done is done,

Gotta look on the bright side,

Never got caught on the blind side,

Not got much but ive still got pride,

Im still alive, thats my prize

An Im grateful,

So young and hateful,

I was never left without a plateful,

Should I be grateful?

Dollars, pounds, euro,

Instant hero,

Thats for me, sick of bein a zero,

Music is my release from these chains I bear,

Sick of the creases on the clothes I wear,

I want cars, money, TVs and bitches,

So far it aint funny we got no riches,

But tomorrow is another day,

Money is power so get outa my way,

Chorus

Money is power,

So we search for it every waking hour,

( Rob, Steal, Kill)

Money is Power,

When you got it great when not it turns sour

(Rob , Steal, Kill)

MONEY IS POWER!

Verse

Money is power we know only too well,

Glorious nations stand up and toll the bell,

America make enough great weapons to sell,

Gets all upset n blows them all to hell,

Blair jumps on board for minimum wage,

Tryin hard to contain mighty Americas rage,

And convince himself theyre on the same page,

Thats how most conflicts were made,

But if you have enough cash,

Then they might not blast,

Cos theyll get there fat, greedy hands on some of your stash,

For patriots its hard the bastardization,

Of a once very powerful and noble nation,

Now they get up and change the station,

Just another culture our countries wastin,

Its hard to sit back and close your mouth,

When people are bein victims north to south,

People cant relax inside there own house,

Without England and America chuckin them out,

Its in everybodys past,

The imperialist country takin your cash,

Scotland and Ireland to name a few,

I got storys to tell pull up a pew,

Its time for me to take my crew,

To the top and see what we can do,

Dont be afraid or stand down,

Whoever you are rebel against the crown,

One day itll happen in your own town,

Youll stand in the rubble warin a frown,

Thinking I was right,

You should stand and fight,

With your pride you gain extra height,

And be the one, who decides your own plight,

Chorus

Money is power,

So we search for it every waking hour,

(Rob, Steal, Kill)

Money is Power,

When you got it great when not it turns sour

(Rob, Steal, Kill)

IS POWER!

ive got a military mind, tarin me up inside,

fightin daily on tha streetz for every ounce of pride,

pick my homies up n then its time to slide,

cruise up on your street corner when its time to ride,

catchin cases is second nature to a thug like me,

nobody on the block was slangin drugs like me,

test my patience dawg u and your homies will see,

steppin to me is like playin wit fire,

none of your boys could equal my desire,

i could fix you up or just as easy i could retire,

but i aint got it in me to walk away,

it aint in ma nature no matter night or day,

u think anyones gotta listen to the shit that u say,

the shit your boys spray, its clear for all to see your quite obviously gay,

i respect when the street stay street,

never on there knees an never admittin defeat,

but when u claimin street n then base your life on deceit,

homie i aint the only one who can start actin discreit,

only i wont run to the cops,

i wont spread shit around the block,

i wont rest until everyone of the bodies drop,

cold in the street light,

dark in the dead of night,

its time for you to see whose gonna stand n fight,

or whose gonna run n hide,

i aint got no fear im just dead inside,

im gonna prove you a punk,

dont need the ballz wont be drunk,

i know you n your boys split at the first sign of funk,

your little fake crew will be buiried and sunk,

these are the songs that real thugz ride to,

these are the words that real thugz collide to,

so sit back n kick it to the words that are simplistic,

no gay shit n glamour no muthafuckin pimp shit,

ill hit you wit the chourus and just let you envision it.

Chorus

this is tha muzic that fake thugs cry too,

this is the real shit that true thugs ride too,

these are the words that real thugz collide to,

so do what i say and just ride out like i do!!

this is tha muzic that fake thugs cry too,

this is the real shit that true thugs ride too,

these are the words that real thugz collide to,

so do what i say and just ride out like i do!!

verse

one spark realeases an explotion of rage

I lay venomous lyrics accross the fuckin page

i see the cowardice and pain drain color from ya face,

the gangland assassins never come second in the race,

a brave heart to the core lyrics u neva heard before,

the word in the game is that my talent is raw,

the truest thug alive that any playa has saw,

investigation a little deeper still wont find a flaw,

the hardest thing in life is to keep yourself mean,

never rest on your dough always keep yo self keen,

if theres one moral i learned from the shit that ive seen,

its avoid the haiters the bitches and fiends,

the people i run with gangsters n thugz,

the ones who got through life never addicted to drugs,

never got envolved to deeply in love,

the ones you can trust when you pull on the gloves,

theyll do 15 years hour lock down,

for someone else who they watched gettin shot down,

Chorus

this is tha muzic that fake thugs cry too,

this is the real shit that true thugs ride too,

these are the words that real thugz collide to,

so do what i say and just ride out like i do!!

this is tha muzic that fake thugs cry too,

this is the real shit that true thugs ride too,

these are the words that real thugz collide to,

so do what i say and just ride out like i do!!
