Drama Unit 1 Task - Writing In Role

The door loomed up in front of me, an endless plank, taunting me to open it, to reach up and face Alice up. I envisioned her, the pain, the tears, the confusion, the expression of disgust on her face. As I thought of this, though, it suddenly hit me - I didnt actually care. All I thought about these days was Anna, and being with her again. It was becoming obsessive. But that wasnt the problem right now. The problem was telling Alice I was ending it with her. I think Ill do it quickly. You know, the old; 'Im leaving you, youve got a week to get your stuff out, no, you cant have the vase your Mum gave us, oh dear, dont cry, please, I wish I hadnt hurt you so much. Boo-hoo. In and out, 15 minutes. Whats the time? 10. Ill be at Annas again by one.

Well, that didnt quite go as planned. I kept it down to an hour, at least. She wanted to go, straight away, and while I couldnt give a stuff with her wandering off, itd give me time to pack her stuff at least, I didnt want her being hit by a car. The policed investigate me, because wed had a row. And I might get in trouble for negligence, letting her go in that state.

I got her calmed down after a while, though, and she hopped in her car to go and stay at her mums. I said if she wanted a taxi Id lend her some cash, but she said she wouldnt have anything to pay me back with. Oh well. I separated out all our stuff before heading off to Annas, I dumped her crap at the bottom of the stairs. She can box it up tomorrow or whenever, but I told her to come when Ill be there, 'cause she doesnt have a key.

Once I got to Annas, I told her what had happened. She wasnt best pleased, I think she thought more of Alice than I did. Cant see what she thinks of her really. I mean, theres a time when I used to go for all that huggy, wimpy stuff. But it got tiring very quickly, she wont stop simpering up to me, its like Im the only thing in her life. Maybe thats why she was so devastated, but thats not my problem. Shes the one with boundary issues. I made it up to Anna, anyway, gave her that ugly old vase Alice was so keen to have, told her I bought it at an antiques auction, worth a mint. Alices mum probably bought it from a charity shop for 50p, silly old cow. Anna was chuffed, though, she doesnt know what shes on about with that sort of stuff.

Shes finally cleared out her stuff. Started crying again when I said Id given the old vase to Anna. Said it was an heirloom. Not my problem, didnt know, did I? Probably wasnt, anyway.

Probably just wanted to have it, she doesnt respect other peoples feelings like that, only cares about herself. Im not falling for it. Shes had a couple of weeks to stew over this, and I reckon shes feeling a bit angry, angry or clingy. She either wants me back so badly shes not going to leave, or once Im out of sight shell start smashing up everything she can find. So Im playing it safe. Ive said, shes got an hour to get it all done, (no I cant lend a hand, new suit) and Im watching her do it all, just in case. She wants a cup of tea now. Scab. I reckon therell be no end of her trying to pilfer money and stuff off me. I dont care if youve been laid off, because your Mum doesnt live locally and your cars broken down, it isnt my problem. Find a new job up there. Nothing around? You telling me there isnt a Somerfields in Milton Keynes? Im sure theyve got a shelf stacker opening somewhere. Its not my problem anymore.

This is taken from the first scene of a play by Patrick Marber, so if you use this, youll need to get that too, so the examiner knows where you are (supposedly) writing from.

Stroop Test Simulation

(Comprehensive Paper)

The Stroop Test was comprised in 15 by J.R. Stroop, and it theorizes how automatic processes can at times interfere with the thinking needed to complete a task. After subjecting myself to this test I discovered the purpose and summary of the simulation; as well as psychological terms and theories that were used. Do my essay on The Stroop Test CHEAP !

First, the hypothesis of the Simulation Exercise was that it is easier to name the color patches than to name the color of words. This further leads to the Simulations purpose which is to prove whether or not automatic processes may at times interfere with ones thinking. This means basically, relating to the Stroop Test that when color patches are presented to a subject they have no problem naming the color in a very short period of time. However, when you put color words in front a subject it takes them longer to name the color, simply because they feel the need to actually read the word first. This adds to the time it takes to name the color, and also shows that reading can be considered an automatic process.

This Simulation Exercise introduced several psychological terms and helped to give me a better understanding of them. The first term that I noticed was hypothesis, or an educated guess about a phenomenon that is stated in concrete details to rule out confusion in its meaning. Second, independent variable, which is a condition that an experimenter varies so he/she is able to see its impact on another variable (controls or manipulates). For this Simulation the independent variable was manipulating the nature of the stimulus materials in a color naming task. Third, the dependent variable, definition a variable that is thought to be affected by the manipulation of the independent variable, and it usually measures an aspect of the subjects behavior. In this case the dependent variable was the length of time it takes to name the colors. There was a variation to the Stroop Test compared to other experiments, and that was that they only used a control group; instead of both a control and experimental group. This proved to be positive though because it lead to being able to use two conditions in the place of one which related directly to the types of stimulus materials. First, the control condition, which was the color patches. Second the experimental condition, represented by the stimulus materials being color words printed in incongruent colors. This condition was created for the experimenter to look for interference effects in naming the colors.

Finally, my results and the summary of the Simulation Exercise. Unfortunately my results went against the hypothesis seeing as both tasks were equally easy for myself. This lead to my T test being 1.07, and my statistics being insignificant. However, going against my own results I still feel that J.R. Stroop was correct with his previous research. Stroop felt that reading was an automatic process for adults. So, when faced with a stimuli consisting of words they cannot help but read them. This in return would slow down the naming of the color when the word being read has a different color name than that which it is printed in. Going along with his view, the Stroop effect does not seem to occur until after children start to read.

In conclusion, from my interaction with the Stroop Simulation Exercise I acquired a new and far better understanding to the scientific method as well the terms that went along with the Simulation. Also I now possess a different view on principles and theories behind automatic processes, and find my results from the experiment slightly off base.

Concerning Cloning Humans

The ethics of human cloning has become a great issue in the past few years. The advocates for both sides of the issue have many reasons to clone or not to clone. This is paper is an attempt to explore the pros and cons of human cloning and to provide enough information of both sides of the arguments in order for the reader to make their own informed decision on whether human cloning is ethical or not. Cloning will first be defined. Then a brief explanation of why questions concerning cloning humans have arisen will be presented. Followed by that, a discussion of the facts and opinions that are for and against cloning will be presented.

Defining Human Cloning

When speaking of human cloning, what is meant? Different groups and organizations define it differently. To use a specific definition, the American Medical Association (AMA) defined cloning as the production of genetically identical organisms using somatic cell nuclear transfer". Somatic cell nuclear transfer refers to the transferring of genetic material from the nucleus of a donor adult cell to an egg whose nucleus, and thus its genetic material, has been removed. The reconstructed egg containing the DNA from a donor cell must be treated with chemicals or electric current in order to stimulate cell division. Once the cloned embryo reaches a suitable stage, it is transferred to the uterus of a female host where it continues to develop until birth.

Buy cheap cloning term paper

One must understand that cloning does not produce an exact copy of the person being cloned. What cloning does, is that it copies the DNA/genes of the person and creates a duplicate genetically. The person will not be a Xerox copy. He or she will grow up in a different environment than the clone, with different experiences and different opportunities. Genetics does not wholly define a person and the personality.

How It All Started

In February 17, when embryologist Ian Wilmut and his colleagues at Roslin Institute in Scotland were able to clone a lamb, named Dolly, the world was introduced to a new possibility and will never be the same again. Before this, cloning was thought to be impossible, but now there is living proof that the technology and knowledge to clone animals exist. Questions began to arise within governments and scientific organizations and they began to respond. Are humans next? Is it possible to use this procedure to clone humans also? Would anyone actually try? What can we learn if we clone humans? How will this affect the world? These are only a few of the questions that have surfaced and need answered. A whole new concept in ethics was created when the birth of Dolly was announced.

There are a great number of possible medical benefits and disadvantages to cloning and its technology. They include the following

Potential Medical Benefits

üThe possibility that through cloning technology we will learn to renew activity of damaged cells by growing new cells and replacing them.

üThe capability to create humans with identical genetic makeup to act as organ donors for each other, i.e., kidney and bone marrow transplants.

üSterile couples will be able to have offspring will have either the mothers or fathers genetic pattern.

Potential Harms and Disadvantages

üThe possibility of compromising individualities.

üLoss of genetic variation.

üA black market of fetuses may arise from desirable donors that will want to be able to clone themselves, i.e., movie stars, athletes, and others.

üTechnology is not well developed. It has a low fertility rate. In cloning Dolly, 77 eggs were used, 0 started to divide, nine induced pregnancy, and only one survived to term.

üClones may be treated as second-class citizens.

Evil lies at the core of all human beings; it is our ability to control it that will allow us to arrive at peace. Gene continuously acts on premeditated cruelty throughout the novel. During the climax, Gene intentionally injures his "best" friend by "jouncing the limb" (p.5), in order to punish Finny for distracting him from his studies. Gene, afraid of Finnys abilities, confidence, and care-free personality, knowingly hurts his friend, by acting out of envy. His admiration for Finny is clear, as he is always describing Finny as one who "combine[s] a calm ignorance of the rules with a winning urge to be good" (pg.16). Gene goes on to personify his friend as an indestructible character. Therefore, his other motive to harm Finny was to see whether "Invincible Finny" would actually fall. According to Gene, Finny is true, sincere, honest, and lighthearted, but overall, innocent, which is what Gene has always been striving to be. In summation, this inhumane act Gene partakes in only proves the extent to which mankind will go, when feeling intimidated or threatened by another.

Following this event, Gene and Finny reconcile and maintain their friendship, while Brinkers longing for his once strong relationship with Gene reaches its peak. At the "mock trails" that are later held (p.161-68), Brinkers intent to destroy the tight-knit friendship Gene had with Finny, to benefit himself, is apparent. Brinker announces that the "trail" was organized "for Finnys good, and for...Gene[s]" as he confirms that "we should get all this out in the open" (pg.160) in order to squash tension and reach peace. Brinker, determined to find out what really happened, finally was able to reveal the truth, and in result helped no one, other than himself, and hurt everyone. Finny loses his "best" friend and is forced to face the reality of the situation, which then leads to his inevitable death. Brinkers goal is accomplished, at the loss of a classmate, dorm-mate and friend, his plan is fulfilled. This only shows that all humans are imperfect, thus those that are perfect (Finny) cannot and do not exist, because our utopian version of life can never and will never be real.

Furthermore, the level of malevolence in the students continues to intensify towards the end of the novel. At the time when Leper returns to Devon from the war on a Section Eight Discharge, his friends are notified and react in a less sympathetic manner than they should have. Gene decides that Leper "[is] crazy" (pg.155) and both Finny and Gene "br[eak] into sudden laughter"(pg.155) immediately after being informed, which is only natural but at the same time saddening. Rather than being compassionate and considerate towards their friend, who especially needs their support at this time, they turn the horror of the effects of war into a joke. They laughed, not out of the humor in the situation, but instead out of fear of pain, they now knew would soon be forced upon them to endure. Teasing Leper was a common thing among the boys, and when Leper realized that they were treating him differently he finally retaliated with, "You always did take me for a fool, didnt you?" (pg.168). This question, which should have been directed to all of the boys, confirms the idea that Leper was used as a scapegoat to taunt and tease, for the purpose of distracting themselves from having to face their own fears. With all of these situations exemplifying humans as cruel creatures, it is clearly evident that man can be and is cruel to his fellow man, hence, evil is in the spirits of all.Custom writing service can write essays on A separate Peace

As Joe says in Great Expectations "it is far better to be uncommon on the inside than the outside." A persons possessions do not matter as much as a persons actions. How wealthy and or how high someones social stature is does not bring them true happiness. It is what they believe on the inside that brings them happiness. The author of Great Expectations, Charles Dickens, was trying to say that sometimes people rely too highly on money to bring them happiness, while true happiness comes from the people that love and care about you. Although in the beginning of the book some characters did believe money and social status brought them happiness, they soon realized that this was incorrect. Three characters in the book that figured this out are Pip, Miss Havisham, and Estella.

Pip is a simple black smiths boy who wants to become a gentleman when he realizes his own upbringing is common. Although he has little money he still accomplishes his dream with the help of his benefactor. While going through the stage of being ashamed and embarrassed of his friends and family he deeply hurts Joe and Biddy. Pip leaves for London to become a gentleman, but leaves behind his common life with Joe and Biddy included. In London Pip learns some essential lessons in money management and social stature. After many incidents pertaining to his money and social status he decides that this glorious life is not all that it is cut out to be. He decides his life no longer brings him happiness, because he becomes very lonely without Joe and Biddy around. Pip comprehends the importance of his traits like loyalty and kindness. He finally realizes that no amount of money can make up for the lack of his traits.

The belief that goodness is always able to overcome evil is shown in Miss Havisham whose inherent goodness is apparent despite her wrongdoings. Although Miss Havisham seeks revenge on the male sex in the beginning of the book, she finally realizes the consequences of her actions. She discovers that not only had she ruined Estellas life she also ruined Pips life. By using Estella as her puppet she brings her up thinking that all males are hurtful. She then uses Pip as someone to test Estellas evilness on. By doing this she not only caused Pip to have a broken heart she caused Estella to never love anyone.

Estellas irresistible beauty captures Pips heart and as a young boy, he is infatuated with her. Somehow, despite her cruelty to Pip and her judgement of only his outside not his character, she becomes the star of his expectations. Although, Estella is the successful product of Miss Havishams upbringing in that she truly does what the old lady raised her to do; she seems to struggle with it. Estella judges Pip clearly on his appearance and commonness, then she learns there is more to him. Although she knows he loves her, she tells him that she cannot love him back because she has no heart. It seems righteous to say that beneath her heart of ice is a simple girl who is honest enough to try and explain to others her lack of feeling and understanding of what is important in life.

Custom Essays on Great Expectations Theme Essay

Essentially, this is a novel about gratification and humility, as well as honor. The theme of Great Expectations touches on every aspect of common emotions like pride, ambition, envy, greed, and arrogance. The lesson Pip, Miss Havisham, and Estella learn is that one should never presume he or she is better than another is, for it is not what is on the outside that counts it is what is on the inside.

Art does something for me that nothing else does. It gives me a different perspective on life. When I look at an object, I see it for its shapes and colors rather than just the object itself. I observe the smallest most insignificant things, and then notice that they arent as insignificant as I thought. I then store the patterns in my mind and use them as a reference for future projects. I draw mostly because it is fun. Every always says, if you need to work, it is great to find work that you love doing and that you can make a living at. That is my dream.

My parents tell me I was born with a pencil in my hand and to this day illustration with pencil and charcoal are my favorite mediums to use when creating my artwork. It allows for a great deal of detail work and I feel pencil, as well as charcoals give you greater control. My favorite type of art is abstract art, because you have to make people see things that only you see. I also like gothic looking art, because it is sad and moves me, especially artists like Frances Bacon. Im not sure why I am drawn to this type of "dark looking" art but I find that it provides a release for me and I feel it is very therapeutic.

I also love animation and cartooning. When I was younger, I even took private lessons from a cartoonist and used to illustrate my own comic book. I still have my first one that I did when I was about ten or eleven. I think the whole animation thing would be cool, because I would love to see one of my drawings come to life. I guess its because I never really had a way to experiment with animation, because I dont have the training or the technology at my disposal.

I was attracted to your school, mostly because of the artwork I saw in your catalogue and on the Internet. I felt like I wouldnt really fit in if I went away to college and your samples of student art were so similar and familiar to my own work that it made me a lot more comfortable. I also would love to live in the Boston area; there is just so much to see and do there. I really would love to attend your school and also leave with the satisfaction that I could create something that I not only found pleasing but that said something about me. Most of my art has the same "feel" to it and I would love to show you some of my work. I am certain I would leave your school 4 years from now, not only with an art degree, but with a much better understanding of myself and myself as an artist.

On a personal level, I am the oldest of the three children in my family. I have a younger brother and a younger sister. I have won a few awards in high school for some of my art. Nothing real big, but I am happy that someone liked my art enough to give it an award. I also play a few musical instruments. I can play drums, guitar, piano, and have a variety of electronic instruments that I use to DJ, such as drum machines, samplers, rhythm synthesizers, and my keyboard. Im in a group with a few of my friends and recently, weve actually recorded our music in a small studio that our friend built and have our music on CD. I would have to say that music is my second love, being that my artwork is my first. I also have gotten into photography, and have been having a lot of fun with it. Other than these things, I dont do much but go to high school and work part time at CVS, or the " red hell" as I like to call it, working about 20 hours a week.

My future goals are kind of uncertain at this time, other than knowing I want to work with the arts. I would be very interested in illustration, painting, and hopefully some animation, and I feel that the variety of courses that you offer and the exposure to many other unique artists will give me some direction as to where I am going in the future.

In the Anglo-Saxon society, all people strove to become a hero, but to maintain the heroic status, the hero must uphold and abide by its rules. Furthermore, humility had no place in the Anglo-Saxon society. To become a hero, one must first establish a name for himself. The people did not consider boasting an ill-mannered quality, as long as one could back his words with deeds. Finally, the Anglo-Saxon hero was expected to be able to perform all those things necessary for life with utmost excellence.

Therefore, one must ask the question, "Does Beowulf uphold these heroic standards?" According to the welcoming party that he received at Herot and from King Hrothgar, Beowulf had undoubtedly begun to establish a name for himself. The people knew about his valorous feats in the ocean. Furthermore, Beowulf went to Denmark of his own free will to help the Danes stop the murderous deeds of Grendel. We can further develop Beowulfs heroic character by contrasting his life with that of Unferth. Unferth, according to his position at the welcoming celebration, must have had some position of military authority. However, he had made no attempt to stop Grendel and avenge his people. His life did not show an example of the heroic way of life.

In addition to Beowulfs initial courage to fight with Grendel, the hero went a step further. He exhibited fairness beyond bounds. Because Grendel had no weapons, Beowulf would use none either. Although Beowulf exhibits fairness, a noble trait expected of a hero, this act seems to be somewhat extreme. Nevertheless, Beowulf wins the battle and establishes his fame.

However, the life of a hero did not prove to be without danger. Beowulf must finish what he had begun. Grendels mother sought revenge. Her battle with Beowulf not only brought the epic to a climax, but it proved to be a true test of Beowulfs courage and skills. Unferth, despite his cowardliness, granted to Beowulf the use of Hrothgars sword, Hrunting. The sword failed Beowulf, but he won the battle anyway. His reaction toward Unferth after the battle exhibits yet another trait of the heroic character. Instead of cursing Unferth, or accusing him of granting a false sword, Beowulf simply thanked Unferth for the weapon. Custom Essays on Beowulf Analysis

Beowulf also showed generosity, another trait of an Anglo-Saxon hero. After returning home from Denmark with all the gifts bestowed upon him by Hrothgar, Beowulf once again demonstrated honor and courage by generously giving the treasure to his own king and lord, Higlac.

Finally, in part two after Beowulf has become king, he exhibits the character and lifestyle of a true king and hero. As revealed by the retainer, Wiglaf, after the battle with the dragon, Beowulf had maintained his relationship with his people. Generous to his retainers, he gave them the spoils of victory armor, weapons, and shields. To maintain this relationship was of utmost importance for all men and especially for a hero and king.

The writer strongly contrasts part one and part two of the epic. Do the factors of a dark setting, a gloomy mood, and an atmosphere filled with doom take away from the heroic status of Beowulf? According to the pagan beliefs, man sought for worldly glory.. Beowulf had established himself as a hero and to the writer, he died a hero. The darkness of the scene reflects the mood of Beowulf, somewhat reminiscent, somewhat vulnerable, yet he upholds the heroic ideal and protects his people. He lived, in the minds of the people, a hero. He died, in the minds of the people, a hero.

Crime is the major problem in todays societies. Countries are trying to find solutions in order to reduce or even prevent it. However it has increased recently, especially in the developed countries. In my view the main causes of crime are family circumstances.

The first and most important cause of crime is a broken home. Fatherless families, due to death, desertion, or divorce of parents lead to undisciplined children who eventually become criminals. Absence of parent is increasing the risk of a relationship with the child that is emotionally more distant. Another factor that leads a child to crime is the absence of a mothers love, if a childs emotional attachment to his mother is disrupted during the first few years, permanent harm can be done to his capacity for emotional attachment to others. Separation from the mother can lead to long lasting negative effects on behavior and emotional development. Furthermore, parental fighting leads children to crime; conflict between parents hurts the child emotionally. The breakup of parents that could be through divorce or separation is an emotional pain that a child will experience.

The second cause of crime is parental abuse that leads children to crime. According to Patrick Fagan, "Child sexual or physical abuse can outweigh many other factors in contributing to violent crime but affects boys and girls differently". Statistics reveals that abuse upon girls is more likely to result in depression than male. Young women delinquents who run away from home are also frequently victims of sexual abuse.

Some people believe that poverty is the primary cause of crime. However, if this were true, there would have been more crime in the past when more people were poorer. In poorer nations, the crime rates would be higher than in developed countries, which is not the case. For example, Americas crime rate gradually rose during the long period of real economic growth, and on the other hand, many countries where real poverty does exist such as India and China do not have the problem of crime. Therefore, we can say that poverty is not a primary cause of crime.

Custom Essays on causes and soullotions of crime

The first solution in order to prevent crime in the community is government action. Imposing fines and jailing criminals will not help to prevent. Government should start from the families and parents who make up the community. Government should advertise more on TV, in magazines and in newspapers and try to persuade people to marry and live more with love in their families. Secondly, gun control will help to reduce crime. As a gun facilitates both killing and other violence in the society, so use of gun should be banned for the public. Furthermore, the government should prevent police corruption as a cause of crime.

The second solution lies within the community itself. People should improve their children education and try to be more effective in their behavior. Parents should observe the national laws and they should set a good example to their children. Respect for the law will lead community to peacefully and security.

In conclusion, crime is the major problem of todays communities. The causes of this problem are family conditions such as fatherlessness, lack of a mothers love, parental fighting and the lake of parental supervision and discipline. However some people claim that poverty is the major cause of crime where as researches disproved that. By working together of government and society, crime could be reduced or even prevented.

Section (Pages 56-11)

What are death and time to the blind?

In this section of the book the reader is introduced to new dilemmas which the blind have to face within their confinement. The most prominent one is the fact that the food that they are promised rarely arrives. Everyday the quarantined people hear an announcement of rules and procedures to follow within their contained space. One of the things mentioned is that food will be delivered to everyone, everyday, three times a day. At first this message seems to be reassuring, even though its a little hostile, the promise of food seems to assure some safety. As time passes, and more and more internees appear, food becomes more and more scarce. This slowly causes panic and rancorous behavior. Its not easy to keep calm when one is threatened by starvation.

A second dilemma which the blind and contaminated have to face is living in the constant threat of death. This becomes obvious when the wounded man becomes so sick and delirious that he can barely reason. He climbs out of his bed, and drags himself to the door. The wounded man is the car thief who stole the first blind mans car. While he is dragging himself he begins to try to make excuses that will make his crime seem insignificant and make him free of blame. Once he gets to the door he startles the guards and gets shot and killed. This first death brought chaos to the confined. Everyone was forced to notice that death was not an impossibility. They had to consider the fact that at any given time it might be decided that the easiest way to deal with the quarantined would be to kill them off. Cheap Custom Essays on Blindness-- What are death and time to the blind?analisis of pages 56-113

Another dilemma for the blind is the passing of time. Being blind, the internees had no way to see the light of day, so they had no way of knowing the time. Some blind internees opened their eyes when morning was still some way off, and in their case it was not so much of hunger, but because their biological clock, or whatever you call it, was no longer working properly... (page 4). This quote shows us that even though they thought they were able to mentally keep track of time, they were wrong. The only person who new the time was the doctors wife. She faked her blindness so she could be in the company of her husband. To all the rest of the internees, the only way to keep track of time was their hunger. This became a problem quick because the food was not delivered on time. I believe that to lose track of time must have been maddening. It is hard to imagine living and not knowing if it is night or day, if it is time for breakfast or dinner. A quote that shows how importance of time can be found when the doctors wife becomes desperate when she notices that she had forgotten to wind up her watch How stupid of me, I forgot to wind my watch, and she went on sobbing, inconsolable. (page 5).

I believe that as the book progresses chaos will build up. I dont think that so many people can live under the same roof, blind, with not enough food, no hygiene, and manage to stay in control and sane. I believe that eventually some fight will break out.

Kathleen Beavier is having a bad day. The pretty, preppy, rich 16-year-old has meandered through the unfamiliar mean streets of South Boston in search of a womens medical center and, it would seem, a date with an abortion doctor. Which doesnt make much sense since pretty, preppy, rich 16-year-old Kathleen is also chaste.

That she finds the doctor dangling lifelessly from a crude noose is "Omen"-esque enough; that Kathleen is then compelled by "The Voice" to carve into a couple of the docs veins is downright frightening. Someones just a tad half-baked in Beantown.

Or maybe not. Meet the equally chaste Colleen Deirdre Galaher of Maam Cross, Ireland. Shes 14, fair as they come, slightly freckled ... and quite pregnant. Apparently "The Voice" is heard overseas, too.

Holy Moses!

Or more like it, Holy Mary Mother of God! By all accounts -- scientific and anecdotal -- the Earth is verging on two virgin births. In the meantime, a series of unexplained epidemics and famines have taken root, leading many to think apocalyptically. Forget what youve heard about the third prophecy of the Fatima pointing to the assassination of the pope; were looking at a prophecy in which one birth will deliver the child of Christ, the other the spawn of Satan.

No wonder the world has gone to hell in a handbasket.

The Vatican, of course, takes all of this seriously. They dispatch Father Nicholas Rosetti to make sense of Colleen. In Boston, the Archdiocese appoints Anne Fitzgerald, a former nun turned detective, to check out Kathleens immaculate conception. Joining her in the investigation is handsome ex-priest Justin OCarroll.

This virgin stuff being so complicated and scary and all, theirs is a search for truth, justice and the traditional procreation way.

Ill spare you more detail. Pattersons book is laced with thrills, chills, twists and turns, and no sense in spoiling any of it. Suffice to say hes back in gear after what, for me, was the disappointing fluff in "When the Wind Blows." Ive been hoping the author would pen another adventure for dandy Detective Alex Cross, but "Cradle and All" is worth your time in the interim

Kathleen, from privileged Newport, Rhode Island; Colleen, from a poor, remote Irish village - two teenagers on opposite side of the Atlantic whose lives are in great danger. Both girls are pregnant.

A private detective named Anne Fitzgerald suddenly has the case of a lifetime - she quickly finds herself caught between the certainty of science and thee possibility of a miracle which could stop the terrible medical epidemics now sweeping the globe. Once a nun and now a private detective with a Master in psychology, Annes very belief in humanity us put to the ultimate test as she comes face to face with an unimaginable evil.

In Boston, a young woman finds herself pregnant--even though she is still a virgin.

In Ireland, another young woman discovers she is in the same impossible condition.

And in cities all around the world, medical authorities are overwhelmed by epidemics, droughts, famines, floods, and worse. It all feels like a sign that something awful is coming.

Anne Fitzgerald, a former nun turned private investigator, is hired by the Archdiocese of Boston to investigate the immaculate conceptions. Even as she comes to care about and trust the young women, she realizes that both are in great danger. Terrifying forces of light and darkness are gathering. Stepping into uncharted territory where the unknown is just the beginning, Anne must discover the truth--to save the young women, to save herself, and to protect the future of all mankind

Traditional Clothing in India

Introduction Of the many cultures that surround us in the world today, the one aspect of the Indian culture that interests me is the traditional clothing. Speaking on myself briefly I am a fashion mogul so to say and anything that has to deal with clothing has me very intrigued, I like keeping up with fashion trends but today I will talk about the traditional clothing in India.

Most impressive and charming about the traditional clothing for women is the colorful display of the saris, an ageless charm since it is not cut or tailored for a particular size, it is six meters long and two meters wide and demands skill for one to dress oneself. Available in different materials like cotton, synthetic, silk according to the occasion. If worn properly it can accentuate and conceal. This graceful attire can be worn in different ways and its manner of wearing, including color and texture, is indicative of the status, age, occupation, region and religion of a woman.

The cholis is the tightly fitted, short blouse that ends just below the bust worn under a sari. It is either being long sleeved, short sleeved or sleeveless. It is evolved as a form of clothing in 10th century AD and at fist they were only front covering; the back was always bare. Today, numerous styles of cholis inspired by the booming Indian fashion industry.

Apart from the choli, women also wear a lehanga, a form of a pleated skirt that is secured at the waist and leaves the back and midriff bare.

A more comfortable and respectable garment is the Salwar Kameej. Salwars are pajama-like trousers drawn tightly at eh waist and the ankles. Over this women wear a long and loose dress known as kameez. Some women wear a churidar instead of a salwar, this is similar to the salwar but tighter fitting at the hips, thighs and ankles. Over this, one might wear a collarless or mandarin collar dress called a kurta.

Though the majority of Indian women wear traditional costumes, the men in India can be found wearing more conventional western clothing. The men wear sherwani, a coat like garment fitted close to the body, of knee length or longer and opening in front with button-fastenings. Below men wear a garment for the lower part of the body, baggy and wide at the top tied with a string at the waist, and tight around the legs and ankles. This is a very elegant dress for men and usually for worn during ceremonies.

The traditional lungi originated in the south and today men and women wear it alike. It is simply a short length of material worn around the thighs rather like a sarong. A dhoti is a longer but with an additional length of material pulled up between the legs.

A knee length collarless shirt that is adorned in mostly white or pastel colors is the Kurta, like the saris Kurtas today are made out of the most wonderful and colorful of fabrics. Pajama are loose like trousers with a string tie at the waist which is traditionally white in color.

Conclusion In the Indian culture, the women have the most elaborate dress such valuable handmade pieces are very expensive in relation to an average income in India. However, men spend much money to dress their wives and sisters accordingly to their social position. Indian dressing styles are marked by many variations, both religious and regional and one is likely to witness a plethora of colors, textures and styles in garments worn by the Indians.

SATURDAYS HAVE become the worst nights on television with nothing worth watching but at least this week we can look forward to that annual rite, the Eurovision Song Contest. Most people might consider it terribly pass but youd be surprised how many viewers do tune in anyway.

The contest has changed and improved over the years, the songs might be as forgettable as ever but there is audience participation now with telephone voting in most countries instead of those anonymous juries we accused or suspected of political and cultural bias. The monopoly of the half dozen countries who always used to win has been broken by the former East European countries who are not only eager to participate but to put on great shows as we saw in Tallinn last year. A refreshing change from some winning countries in the past who seemed to actively resent the fact that they had to host the event yet again and invested little planning or imagination into the night itself.

Most important of all, of course, the entries are now in English, the international language of pop, so everyone can at least understand the words and people no longer vote in language blocs. If the twelve points from Cyprus to Greece and vice versa used to raise a laugh (or booing in some cases) from the audience, so did the high points given by the Scandinavians to each other. Custom writing service can write essays on Television Today

Cyprus will probably give Greece top points as usual this year but then Mantos song has had maximum exposure not only on CyBC but the commercial channels as well. Though one has to say CyBC as the participating broadcaster has been more than fair screening all entries over and over again as well as showcasing some of this years singers on its Efharisto Savvatovrado variety programme.

It seems to be CyBCs week for once, even if it is a brief (and probably final) flash in the pan. Besides the song contest the station will also be screening the Champions League climactic match live on Wednesday, which should improve its AGB ratings no end. After that, who knows when the corporation will be able to attract a reasonable proportion of viewers again because it has lost its important football card to LTV which has won the screening rights to Champions League as from next season.

Hopefully the management has already put on its thinking caps because that loss is going to leave some massive gaps to fill in come next September and the schedulers wont really be able to fudge around making do with figure skating, rhythmic gymnastics, athletics and various EBU sponsored contests and events for nine months until the Olympic Games in Athens in 004.

As for Olympics coverage, it might not even put the corporation into the black again (if anything ever could) because Cypriots will be able to watch the events direct from the newly launched Hellas Sat for the price of a relatively small communications dish. At least thats the impression I got from the rather guarded comments by the experts when they were discussing the advantages of the satellite.

All that is in the future, we still have to live through another summer of endless repeats (on all channels), spiced up by fascinating local events like public rows between the church hierarchy and politicians trying to guess what to do next about the Cyprus Problem.

Time for me to take a break and pass over the column and film reviews to Athena Karsera for three weeks with the hope that I will feel less jaded or the television scene has miraculously improved by the time I return.

Rhetoric is the art of using language effectively and persuasively. It is also called oratory, the art of public speaking. In Arthur Millers play, The Crucible, several characters use rhetoric to convince other individuals tobelieve what is being told to them. One character, Deputy Governor Danforth who was a special judge that came to this town to help in thewitchcraft trials that were brought about by a group of girls that were accusing people that they did not like.

Danforth was very dedicated to removing all witches, he was strong on his principles and would not allow anyone to tamper with hisauthority. Danforth has condemned many people to death because ofhis belief in witches. He puts words into the mouths of the people he is questioning, this is rhetoric; he uses his passion againstwitches to persuade others into saying what he wants them to. On page 100, he says to the court," …I hope you forgive me. I have been thirty-two year at the bar, sir, and I should be confounded were I calledupon to defend these people. Let you consider, now. And I bid you all do likewise. In an ordinary crime, how does one defend the accused? One calls up witnesses to prove his innocence. But witchcraft is ipso facto,on its face and by its nature, an invisible crime, is it not? Therefore, who may possibly be witness to it? The witch and the victim. None other. Now we cannot hope the witch will accuse herself; granted? Therefore,we must rely upon her victimsand they do testify, the children certainly do testify. As for the witches, none will deny that we are most eager forall their confessions. Therefore what is left for a lawyer to bring out?I think I have made my point. Have I not?"

This passage clearly shows Danforth using his oratory skills. His logicis that if someone commits a crime, they usually wont accusethemselves, therefore the witnesses and victims of this crime are the only way to prove the person innocent or guilty. In Danforths view, if there are victims and witnesses, then there must have been acrime committed. His speech logically makes sense and often hiswords sway the opinions of people who are not completely strong on their own opinion.

When Danforth questions Mary Warren, he uses his powerfulforce to try to get her to say anything along the lines that the witches here are not a lie. He realizes that if it is true that the girls have been pretending the whole time, it will mean that he has been duped and so has his entire court. On page 101, Danforth says to Mary Warren, "… Do you know that god damns all liars? She cannot speak. Or is it now that you lie." He is suggesting that because she did not answerhim right away that she is a liar, and that she will be damned my God. As a young girl, Mary Warren most likely is scared by this, and is now more likely to say what Danforth wants, because in someway he has shown her that God will punish her for lying either about the witches or about lying about the witches.

The majority of people in this small town have a strong belief in Godand their religion. Danforth plays with this information and uses it to effectively persuade his audience. He is much respected and holds apowerful position. Danforth considers the amount of people that he has condemned as a reason for his power. He is right, people believe him, because they think that he has been right in the past. He has obviously always been a great speaker, talented with rhetoric and publicspeakingcharacteristics.

The process of recasting and relabeling social issues as Black problems, regardless of the established facts or findings, could be called empirical perversion. Debates about affirmative action, welfare, and crime fell prey to this game of radical twister. The same phenomenon is at work in the framing of police brutality. What was once a generic term used to describe police abuse against citizens has come to symbolize a confrontation between members of minority communities and the police. Simply put, the public face of a police brutality victim is that of a young man who is Black or Latino. This racial links is the direct result of the disproportionately high number of Blacks and Latinos who have been assaulted by the police. Blacks report much higher rates of encounters with the police. For example, a 17 household survey by the Justice Department found that Blacks and Hispanics were about 70 percent more likely to have had contact with the police than Whites. The survey also revealed that one-half of all the people who reported having been hit, pushed, choked, threatened with a gun, or restrained by a dog were Blacks or Hispanics.

The racialization of police brutality has come at a high price. The fact that police brutality is represented as Black has dismissed it to the bottom of social problems. A clear reflection of this is the publics widely open response to the escalating claims of police brutality offered by members of minority communities. Whether or not an issue is ghettoized has everything to do with how it is perceived. More troubling, the marginalization of police brutality may reflect a belief that there is something unique about Blackness that explains and justifies police abuse. This sends a subtle, yet clear, message there is a reasonable link between Black skin and police assaults. All told, the dismissal of police violence as a Black thing is not surprising. Historically, social problems that disproportionately affected Black were ignored. We need look no further than the sociopolitical inertia surrounding decisions to effectively address urban poverty and substandard inner-city schooling. The criminal justice system, courts in particular, has a dubious record of redressing its abuses against Black citizens. In fact, assaults against Black suspects have been at the core of seminal U.S. Supreme Court decisions (for example Powell vs. Alabama and Brown vs. Mississippi). Racial scapegoating is not new. Contemporary examples of this age-old problem challenge us to ask, How did we get here? That is, how and why did we take this particular turn -a turn that results in collective finger pointing aimed at Blacks? Not only has police brutality been widely defined as a Black problem, it has been positioned as a problem for which Blacks are solely to blame. This sleight of hand reasoning mirrors arguments that have been offered to justify police practices that target minority citizens. Some suggest that the disproportionately high levels of police abuse against Blacks and Latinos can be explained by their high rates of offending. Put another way, police brutality against Blacks and Latinos is dismissible as a by-product of their high rates of involvement in crime. The reasoning is as follow

1 Blacks are disproportionately involved in street crime.

Police reasonably suspect that Blacks are involved in street crime.Custom writing service can write essays on Police brutality

Therefore, police are more likely to stop Blacks and, consequently, Blacks are more like to be victims of police brutality.

By definition stream of consciousness is the capturing of a character or authors internal thought process. Virginia Woolf creates an interesting contrast within the characters using stream of consciousness.

Clarissas inner thoughts are shown using a contrast between the lack of attraction for her husband Richard Dalloway, her lesbian feelings toward Sally Seton, and the fear of loosing her husband who has become her social stepping stone. This contrast is a usage of stream of consciousness. Clarissas character reveals to us early in the book her lack of attraction to her husband. "Lovely in her girlhood, suddenly there came a moment for example on the river beneath the woods at Clieveden when, through some contraction of this cold spirit, she had failed him." (1) The "cold spirit" that she talks about could be her sexuality. In saying this, her attraction to women and her lack of understanding why she is this way, is a good explanation of Clarissas character. In feeling this way Clarissa feels that her lack of attraction is a direct effect of her failed emotional relationship with her husband. Another usage of stream of consciousness with Clarissas character is that she feels that after the birth of their child she has lost her sexual relationship and attraction for her husband. "she could not dispel a virginity preserved through childbirth which clung to her like a sheet." (1) Clarissa makes known her true sexuality speaking of her previous relationship with Sally Seton. "But this question of love, this falling in love with women Had not that, after all, been love?" () The use of stream of consciousness with such a complex character as Clarissa helps explain her internal thoughts.

Throughout the novel Woolf uses heterosexual and homosexual love triangles existing simultaneously with a multiplicity of characters in various triangles. The use of these triangles combined with the stream of consciousness shows that it may not be the object in the triangle that is truly desired, but the desire of the subject for what the other wants. This becomes apparent within the character of Peter Walsh who wants Clarissa not because she makes him happy, but because of his jealousy of Richard Dalloway. This jealousy is first shown in the book at their first meeting of the book. "She will marry that man, he said to himself. He didnt even know his name."(61) This jealousy only does one thing for Peter, and that is intensifying his feelings for Clarissa. Her rejection of him and his desire maintains this triangle and even furthers Peters feelings of jealousy and rejection. Another extension of this triangle is Daisy. Daisy is another object of Peters affection. Instead of Peter directing his emotions toward one woman he blurs the two relationships and is in turn overwhelmed with jealousy about both Clarissa and Daisy. " It was jealousy that was at the bottom of it jealousy which survives every other passion of mankind, Peter Walsh thought, holding his pocket-knife at arms length." (80) The character of Peters desire may very well not even be true desire for Clarissa or Daisy, but just the desire of something he could never fulfill.

In closing I would just like to bring forth that stream of consciousness is a very deep and engaging concept. There are no boundaries with this literary device. The characters are suspect and subject to the imagination of the reader/author. The use of stream of consciousness in this book helps bring fourth the ultimate meaning behind its characters and the total concept of the story Order Custom Essay on mrs dalloway

With the dawn of the 16th century, there came together in Europe both the motivation and the means to explore and colonize territory across the seas." There are thousands of reasons why Europeans traveled to the new territory. Some were seeking adventure, some searching for instant, individual wealth, and some just anxious for change. The most prevailing motivations though, were to spread religion and trade. Advances in technology made it possible for these dreams to come true. Europeans were motivated to explore new land because technological progresses allowed them to expand or escape their religion and become wealthy by trade in this new territory.

With little geographic knowledge and underdeveloped technology, Europeans were disinterested in exploring and colonizing new territories. However, at the end of the 15th century, technology movements created excitement about exploring new regions. Once enough information was gathered and technology developed the Europeans became capable of navigating across the Atlantic Ocean. Peoples interest in traveling to the New World flourished. Because technology created a way to reach new territory, Europeans were finally interested in exploring and settling on this new land.

One predominant reason why Europeans wanted to travel across the seas to new territories was religion. In Europe, during this century, a religious crusade was taking place. People that rejected the Catholic faith were banished from the country, forcing them to new territory. "During the Reconquista, thousands of Jews and Moors were driven from the country" (15). Dedicated to their religion, these people could practice whatever they desired in the New World. Others voyaged to new territory for a different cause related to religion. They came to expand their religion. Many tried to convert Natives to whatever religion they practiced. "The Spanish also brought Catholicism to the New World" (18). "…the French declared they had migrated to the New World in search of wealth as well as in hopes of converting Indians to Christianity" (0). For many who traveled to the new world, they were either attempting to strengthen religion or escape from it.

Another reason for the migration to the New World was trade. Many of the voyagers were interested in personal wealth. Europeans wanted to obtain materials found in these new territories and become rich by them. For example, finding gold was a major concern for the Europeans. They were also interested in what the Natives could bring to their benefit. The explorers took fur and skins from the Indians in exchange for guns and powder. Many of the foreigners became dependent on the Indians. Because trading was so important to the Europeans, some traders lived among the Indians and took native wives. The Europeans also traded for slaves. "A slave would be offered to a European trader for so many bars of iron or ounces of gold" (1). New territory offered many unfamiliar, exciting riches to Europeans, which is why they were motivated to explore. Cheap University Papers on History

There are many Europeans that journeyed to new territories. Although many travelers had the same destination, they all had very different reasons for exploring. Many of them came because improved technology had made it possible to travel somewhat safely across the Atlantic; others came to get away from religious tension; some came in search of expanding religion, while others came to get wealthy by trade. Whatever the reason, many Europeans migrated to new territories with much motivation and ambition.

Telling a Story

Everyone has there favorite kind of music. Some people like Rock and Roll. Some people like oldies. Some people like Rap and others like country. All types of music are unique in sound, and in style. However, even though everyone has there favorite type of music and all types are different one thing is always the same every types can tell a story.

Most people say that country music is depressing, but country songs can tell many types of stories. It can tell a sad story, a happy story, or even a silly story. Take this song for example, "Im Gonna Miss Her" by Brad Paisley. It is a tale about how a man loves to fish, but his wife is tired of him going all the time. Therefore, she gives him a choice, if he goes fishing that day she will leave him. The man decides to go fishing even though it means losing his wife. The man loves fishing that much. Most of the time in real life this kind or situation would not occur. The chorus of the song goes like this Buy Heaven term paper

Well Im gonna miss her

when I get home

but right now Im on this lakeshore

and Im sittin in the sun

and Im sure it will hit me

when I walk through that door tonight

Yeah Im gonna miss her

Oh, lookie there, I gotta bite… all right!

This song to some may be a happy song, to others a silly song and to a few even a sad song. But no matter how a person portrays the song it told a story.

Another example of a song telling a story is the oldies song, "Last Kiss" by Frank Wilson and the Cavaliers. This song tells a sad story about a boy and a girl coming home from a date when they got into an accident. The boy lived through the accident but the girl did not. He got out of the car, held the girl in his arms, and kissed her once more before she died. Part of the song goes

I raised her head she smiled and said

hold me darling for a little while

I held her close I kissed her our last kiss

I found the love that I knew I would miss

but now shes gone even though I hold her tight

I lost my love, my life

that night.

There is no denying that this song tells a sad story. Most people would agree that this particular oldies song is a legendary for the story it tells.

One more example of a song telling a story is the rap song, "Summertime" by Will Smith. This song is all about summertime and the things people do during the summer. It can make a person happy because everyone looks forward to summer and the fun that time of year brings. Take for example this part of the song

The temperatures about 88

Hop in the water plug for old times sake

Break to ya crib change your clothes once more

Cause youre invited to a barbeque thats starting at four

Sittin with your friends cause yall remincise

About the days growing up and the first person you kiss….

Then six oclock rolls around

You just finished wiping your car down

Its time to cruise so you go to the summertime hangout

It looks like a car show

Everybody come looking real fine

Cause its summertime!

How can a song like this not make a person want summer to be here? This is the type of song that just make a person feel all warm and good inside It makes a person think back to last summer and look forward to the summer to come.

Music is a way for people to express themselves, a way for people to get their stories heard. Also, a way to make people to feel good, make people understand how much something can hurt or even just a way to make you laugh. No matter who sings a song, what type of music it is, or even how it makes a person feel, there is always a story to be told with that song.

Simple Plans song "Im just a Kid," the singer talks about the age when your not a child but not yet an adult either. The singer talks about how life at this stage of being a teenager is a nightmare. The teenager thinks that he has many friends but he barely ever hears from them. He basically spends every night alone and feels lost. He feels that nobody really cares about his feelings and that he is alone in this world. He points out that "everyones got somewhere to go" and that he is just going to be left alone at home. The song talks about the feelings of a hormonal adolescent searching for an identity. He feels like he doesnt belong anywhere and yet is not excepted anywhere either. The lonely teenager points out that he knows being a kid is unfair and that it has its down points. He appears to be lost in a sense that he doesnt feel excepted anywhere, and its probably because of hormones and the normal thinking of a teenager. The characterization of the singer is being a kid isnt easy , since most teens are trying to find themselves you could feel alone at times and lost . In this case, the singer is revealing his feelings about being a kid and sometimes it could almost feel like your all alone in the world, dealing with feelings and emotions that you think nobody else feels but you. The character of the song is dealing with normal pressures and lonely feelings of a teenager going though many stages.

Simple Plans "Im just a kid" and Jonah Blacks The Black Book [Diary of a teenage Stud] share common character traits. The character in the novel and the song point out the different emotions and feelings of being a teenager. Both characters show the changes they go through. In the song the singer says, "What the hell is wrong with me? I dont fit in with anybody." The singer is questioning himself and the situation he feels he is in. This line mirrors the character in the novel, Jonah Black. He feels alone and lost at times so he fantasizes and blocks out his reality. Unlike the character in the song, Jonah deals with his loneliness and his unwanted reality life by fantasizing about romantic events and sexual activities with girls. The song portrays a lonely teenager who feels excluded from an ideal teenage life, so he feels left out and unwanted. Unlike Jonah, the character in the song believes that these feelings are just because he is a "kid" and that they will probably leave him when he grows up. Jonah feels that he will be alone and excluded his whole life and that these feelings will persist. To block out these feelings of loneliness, Jonah fantasizes and basically mixes up reality with fantasy. These shifts from day dreaming to an actual life confuse Jonah. Which leave him asking, "what is wrong with me?" The character in the song and Jonah both reveal the thoughts of being left alone at home with nothing to do and no one who cares. Both characters are going through that difficult adolescent stage in life when they are not a child but not yet an adult either, and both point out the loneliness of being a teenager.

Human Resources

Anet Reclusado works at the Human resources department at Signature Fruit (formerly Tri Valley Growers). They are a fruit processing plant. They used to also process tomatoes. They had the labels of S & W products and also Libby pumpkin products. Human resources take care of the employees of the company.

Anets title is Human Resource Manager,, but she wears many different hats, depending on the season. Signature Fruit is a cannery, so most of the employees work during the months of May, June through September, October depending on what their job is. During the "off-season" Anet is the jack of all trade, the plant manager, secretary and HR Manager. During the "season" she has a lot more help. They are called seasonal employees. Anet has been with the company for 17 years. When Anet first started working, Tri valley Growers (Signature Fruit) was one of the main companies to work for Modesto along with their competitor Del Monte ( but they dont mention that name). There are many employees who have been with the company over 0 years. One of the oldest employees is seventy-something years old.

Anet learned on the job and has a 4 year degree in Organizational Behavior. She feels that experience is the best teacher. She has worked as a seasonal worker in various positions.Cheap custom writing service can write essays on Human resources: job shadow

. She handles the recruitment and selection, performance evaluation, Compensation and benefits, training, retention and turnover, union grievances. Signature Fruit is part of the labor union so Annette has to deal with the union workers of the company. So in actuality human resources does most of the work at the company.

I arrived at Signature Fruit at 70. I waited while she attended a human resource meeting. Confidential information was being talk about, so I could not be there.

The first 0 minutes she answered her e-mail and voice mail. She scheduled business luncheons. She made the time cards for the next shift. There are shifts during the season. Time cards are made up daily, because they do not what jobs will be needed until the following day. This job is called "manning" Right now they are "off-season" so there is not as many people working. A couple of years ago they had about 11, 000 employees during the season. Now because of the closing of 7 of their processing plants of the company there is only about 4000 employees during the season.

She then prepared paperwork for re-registration, registration is when they see what employees are coming back to work the season. This took about 1 hour. There was medical questionnaire, W-4s,and a couple of other forms.

In the middle of all this, she had many phone calls regarding various things using terms I had no idea what it was concerning. She was always being interrupted for either a person walking in or the phone ringing. A 75 year old man walked in because he was injured at work, but he did not want to put in workers comp claim in, but by law, it is required or the company could in major trouble and the union would probably file a grievance on behalf of this man and it could cost the company a lot more money.

Overall it was a very busy day and Anet accomplished a lot of things in 4 hours. She said that I could come during the season and watch the fruit being processed. I thanked her and promised her lunch, She gave me a Signature Fruit T-shirt.
