Once upon a time there lived a boy named Marcus. Marcus lived in planet Alpha, the world with no emotions. Alpha was the world without love, without hate, without joy, without sadness, and most revered Alpha was the world without pain. Marcus was the only resident of Alpha. He lived there all by himself, quite content with life on this wonderful planet where emotions cannot live. Marcus was in his own world, his planet.

Many light-years away from planet Alpha was another planet, planet Beta. Beta was the world of emotions. Beta was a very big world, with many residents that were blessed and cursed with emotions. Marcus was once a resident of Beta. As a matter of fact he lived there for almost a decade. One day Marcus was cursed with an emotion that drove him to Alpha. He built a home on alpha and told himself that he must never go back to Beta again.

Since there was no love on planet Alpha, there was no heartbreak, and since there was no hate there was no war. Alpha was the world where everything was logical and everything was physically real. There wasnt anything that existed that cannot be touched or felt. What made Alpha this emotionless world was the fact that its built on the principle "If you cant see it, hear it, smell it or touch it, it doesnt exist".

After many years on the planet Alpha, Marcus began to think about returning to Beta. He had forgotten about why he went into exile on planet Alpha, in the first place. So Marcus woke up the next morning and said to himself, "Im going back to Beta". The very next moment he heard a voice say to him "You have returned to Beta already". Marcus was surprised and he simply let himself go.

Marcus began to feel emotions again. He saw people smiling and laughing, then he saw children playing happily, and this made him smile. Marcus was now re-introduced to the feeling happiness. He was taken aback by this sudden feeling, this emotion, he liked. Marcus paused for a moment and said to himself "This is good, I wonder what more of this is there?" Marcus decided to play with the children to find out "what more of this is there". The children made him laugh. Marcus then said to himself "Wow, this feels even better than what I felt moments ago". Now Marcus sat down and asked himself why did he deprive himself of this wonderful thing called "emotion"? He couldnt understand why he wasted the years he spent in Alpha.

Marcus was excited and filled with many more emotions. Before going to bed that night Marcus was happy and anxious to discover more emotions. He couldnt wait for the next day. Eventually Marcus fell asleep. He began to dream, he was flying, flying very calmly and the warmth of the sun was all over him. On awakening he was amazed and ecstatic about this dream. Dreaming was new to Marcus, since dreams are not physical the too did not exist on planet Alpha.

The next day Marcus two little children fighting, in the process one of the children cried. A tear rolled down his cheek, he was now re-introduced to sadness. Marcus hated this emotion; he sat on a park bench and began to consider his return to Alpha. Moments later the children reconciled and continued to play happily. Marcus felt happiness again and decided to stay. He then decided that hell go through this bad feeling of sadness and stay in Beta for the moments of happiness, believing therell be more moments of happiness than sadness.

As time went by, Marcus was slowly being re-introduced to emotions. He felt the sweet taste of glory and sometimes the bitter taste of failure. Marcus did not let the negative emotions get him down. He was determined to persevere, to stay in Beta and to do his best to taste more of the positive emotions.

Marcus made many friends on Beta during his stay thus far. Marcus was then introduced to the worst of all emotions hate. One of his closest friends deceived him. This act of deception filled Marcus with hatred towards his so-called friend. Marcus then went into depression for a long time. He was highly determined to stay on planet Beta, and so he did. Marcus then learnt how to humble himself and eradicate this hate virus, which flowed strongly through his veins. Marcus asked himself "Was it this emotion that drove me to Alpha? Was it hate?". He got engrossed in deep thought about what drove him to Alpha. He now believed that if he could overcome hatred, he could overcome anything and therefore nothing at all could drive to Alpha.

Further into his stay on Beta, Marcus felt a very new emotion, infatuation. Marcus, however, believed he was in love. Marcus was excited, all he wanted was to be with this girl, he infatuated over. He began to court her, and in time Marcus was convinced that she loved him. Then one sad day she committed the same act of deception upon him that his old "friend" did. Marcus felt heartbroken, so he thought. He hated this girl for a while and remembered how to overcome hate. Marcus humbled himself again. He prayed that this act of deception committed unto him is not committed unto those who have committed it unto him. He then prayed they change and do not commit this act unto others.

Little did Marcus realize, he was slowly moving towards discovering why he left Beta for Alpha many years ago. Marcus was then blessed with the greatest emotion of all, true love. Marcus fell in love for real; he finally felt what it is to love someone. More importantly than that he felt what it is to be loved. Marcus was so happy with the decision he made many years ago, to return to Beta. Marcus was grateful to be blessed with this feeling.

As time went by the emotion of love grew stronger and stronger within Marcus and the mental existence of Alpha disappeared. Life was great; Marcus loved and was loved. Marcus had everything. Marcus then became determined to ensure that he has everything, but in that determination the love for Marcus was being lost. To love is nothing, to be loved is something, to love and be loved is everything. Suddenly, Marcus had nothing. His subconscious fear of losing everything drove the one Marcus loved into re-introducing Marcus to heartbreak. Marcus suddenly realized what drove him to Alpha. He sat to himself "This is what drove me to Alpha many years ago, this cursed emotion, this emotion called heartbreak, this pain this agony. What do I do now? Do I return to Alpha or do I take the challenge and stay here in Beta?"

Earth is about 4.5 to 4.6 billion years old. The Earth has many layers. The innermost layer is the core, followed progressively by the upper mantle, lower mantle, transition region, D layer, outer core and the inner core. The layers have specific chemicals that are caused by earthquakes vibrations. The crust is 0-40 km deep, the upper mantle is 40-400 km deep, the transition region is 400-650 km deep, the lower mantle is 650-700 km deep, the D layer is 700-80 km deep, the outer core is 80-5150 km deep and the inner core is 5150-678 km deep. The core is mostly made up of iron, the lower mantle consist mostly of silicon, magnesium and oxygen, with some iron, the upper mantle mostly consists of olivine, pyroxene, calcium and aluminum and the crust primarily consists of quartz.

It has a lot of water and some land. Earths surface is covered with 71% of water and has % land. The inner core and the crust are solid. The outer core and the mantle are plastic or semi-fluid. Earth has a mass of 5.7e4 kg. The Earths orbit 65 days around the Sun. The Earth is 14,600,00 km from the Sun. The Earths diameter is 1,756. km. The Earths atmosphere is 77% nitrogen, 1% oxygen, with pieces of argon, carbon dioxide and water. What is philosophy?

If you order your research paper from our custom writing service you will receive a perfectly written assignment on What is philosophy?. What we need from you is to provide us with your detailed paper instructions for our experienced writers to follow all of your specific writing requirements. Specify your order details, state the exact number of pages required and our custom writing professionals will deliver the best quality What is philosophy? paper right on time.

Our staff of freelance writers includes over 120 experts proficient in What is philosophy?, therefore you can rest assured that your assignment will be handled by only top rated specialists. Order your What is philosophy? paper at affordable prices!

According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, "Philosophy is the critical examination of the grounds for fundamental beliefs and analysis of the basic concepts employed in the expression of such beliefs. Britannica also defines philosophy as reflection on the varieties of human experience, or as the rational, methodical, and systematic consideration of the topics that are of greatest concern to mankind." Or as the Greeks would call it "love of wisdom". Philosophy probes and asks probing questions, but can every question be reasoned? And even more important, who defines what the most important question is? I think that when it comes to your every day Joe, or Joanne, we decide for ourselves what the most important question is because philosophy is subjective; it is also cultural and exceedingly personal.

Philosophy, Ive learned, touches every aspect of our lives and is very much reflective of who we are as human beings. The great philosophers throughout history deserve enormous credit for coming up with their philosophical theories within the differing fields and styles of philosophy. Be it Platos theory of the Forms or William Ockhams principle known as Ockhams Razor, its these philosophers who have paved the way for us "normal" folk to learn and apply their theories, working them into our introspective thought processes and deciding whether or not they work for us. Philosophy is subjective in just this way , as it opens, or closes, intellectual doors and gives to who we are for having studied those philosophers differing viewpoints. Were all better people for having learned about Platos "Form Land" even if some of us may not agree with the idea of a transcendent world where realities called Forms exist beyond space and time and independently from our minds and wills. Ockhams Razor gave us the tool to cut away all of those unnecessary principles and realities (like Form Land) and get right to the simplest explanation for lifes important questions.

Philosophy is cultural especially when applied to religion. All of the worlds great religions have produced significant philosophical and theological thought, such as the most important philosophical question to me, the argument for the existence of God. While Christianity, Buddhism or Islam employ its own unique twist on their respective religions beliefs, the underlying opinion remains. This basic faith assertion is that each person should treat others in a decent manner. It is often expressed as "Do unto others as you would wish them do unto you." This is the human commonality that links our religions all together across culture, space and time.

Finally, philosophy, to the normal, every day Joe, or Joanne, is exceptionally personal. At some point in every persons life, I believe there comes a time when we take a good hard look at who we are inside and ask ourselves those difficult questions "Who am I?" "What do I stand for?" and "How can I make a difference?" Many of us spend our entire adult lives in search of those answers and more in a never-ending quest to be the best person we can be, particularly in relationships. Be it with a lover, a child, a friend, a co-worker or even God, we constantly have to ask ourselves, "What can I do to make this relationship better?" It can open the floodgate to self-actualization, our own personal philosophical take on life.

Philosophy in the most fundamental way is weaved throughout humanity, in religion, politics, mathematics, science etc. It takes on the most difficult questions of mankind, or the average Joe, it crosses geographical plains and attempts to make sense of this world that we live in.
